Just his typical behavior. Reading between the lines, he crossed the wrong "friend". It was going to happen sooner or later.

Typical Mark. He gets caught red handed with his hand in the "cookie jar", and cant even say he is sorry or admit he did wrong. All he tried to do is blame the person that complained (his "friend?")for giving the information to the newspaper. As far as him being a "leader"?...Maybe you better look that one up! He would have fired anyone that did a fraction of what he was caught doing. I think the newspaper should find out, and report, how much CITY MONEY has been spent so far investigating and defending this chief, while others are loosing their jobs. Wake up Mr. City Manager!!!....It might be wise to cut you losses while you can.

Screwing himself! I bet he would love to get out of FB NOW! I hope someone in the know steps forward and gives uss the 4-1-1. There has to be much more to the story.

I am the last person he wants to play "tit for tat" with....I know too much and have the proof to back it up. I am also "deeply saddened" by what has happened--but for many reasons, not just for the fact that it got to the public, which seems to be his only concern.

Intheknow, maybe you should give the info you have to someone that could actually do something about it. That might just bring more people forward. Keeping info to yourself isn't helping our City. Yes, I said "Our City" contrary to a few officials that come off as though it belongs to them. Just my opinion.

Who's going to spend all the money to recruit new positions for the dept? I heard he changed the police department from night to day with all the improvements he made. It appears the police department has been running smoothly and much better then under the prior chief. I've noticed around my neighborhood, crime has significantly decreased. I think the city will spend more money on trying to find replacements for everyone who leaves and follows him to the next department. Who will then protect our streets if he leaves? I remember when FB had two shootings and crime was high. I'm worried, if the city gives him the boot then we will have no police officers to protect our streets. Hope there is a back up plan.

Officers would leave??? Where would they go? B.S. No one is hiring.
Your Chief may be good at getting his job done. The bad part is he is also good and being a LIAR.

Fort Bragg PD has become a tight knit family since this Chief arrived. I wouldn't be surprised if officers left if he goes, whether they have jobs to go to or not.

Curious, is that because they wouldn't mind being broke with no health insurance for themselves and dependants and maybe homeless?
I respect the fact that you admire Puthuff, but if this is the best you can come up with to defend him you are doing more harm than good.

HA...no one will leave. You should be thankful, he will ultimately bring embarassment to your City and police department. He has no conscience.

Mendo & Berkley: Is that you Allen or Paul? Mark's two last male friends in the world?
You would cover your man-hoe's back no matter what he has done. You two wish you were him. Even Tiger Woods had good old buddies covering for him for years and years and look where he is now.
You need to wake up and stop wishing for sloppy seconds.

If a cop has a job that is safe they are not walking away from it. It will take years for the economy to recover.Until then to walk away from job security would be akin to employment suicide. And, Mendo, I am not Richards either. Why don't you follow the news in your own town? And stop trying to put your two cents in Fort Bragg's business. Move on. Puthuff is no longer in Stan...no need to follow...go back to where you came from.

Just think good-buddy, everytime a background investigator does a search on the Chief they will come across topix.

I just find it funny that from now until eternity that anytime a background for future employment is done on your good buddy TOPIX will be here. And what busts my gut is you are throwing fuel on the fire. Everyone should have a friend like you!

We know all of the FB Force is reading this, how could they not? How many of you knew your beloved Chief was searching for another job? How many of you are willing to give up job security to follow him? Is he as loyal to you as you are to him? Most would say he would send you down a river to nowhere to save his own skin. He is out to save his own skin and will throw you, his wife and kids under a bus to do so. He has done it before and will do it again. Bank on it.
