The Alberta tar sands are found under a region of Boreal forest
and wetlands similar in size to Florida. The bitumen—or the
unrefined product excavated from the tar sands—must either
be strip-mined or melted and pumped up after the ground has
been heated with steam for several months. Both forms of tar
sands extraction fragment and destroy the Boreal forest, killing
nesting migratory birds and many other species. Toxic waste from
the mining operations is stored in vast man-made dams—called
tailings ponds—that already cover sixty-five square miles. Tar sands
extraction uses large amounts of water from the Athabasca River
and underground aquifers and energy—primarily natural gas—to
heat the water to separate the bitumen from the sand.

So..........LOL

Is the fact that oslama only stalled the pipeline going to stop Canada from extracting the oil????
NOPE.........LOL

All oslama did was to try and force the oil to be moved in the most dangerous and polluting way possible......LOL

Do you real thin Canada gives a rats arse what you or oslama thinks???

They will be extracting oil and there is nothing you or oslama can do about it..........LOL

And Canada has already stated they could give a rats arse as they will build the pipe line to the west and let China buy the crud..........

So not only do we lose the 20k jobs for building the pipeline but the jobs and taxes from the refining process.........

Great job oslama..........LOL

You are living up to your name.......
oslama the economy slayer..........LOL
Huh

At least you provided your source this time.
The problem is, the NRDC is a well known left wing environmental group.
What would anyone expect out of them?

How about these opinions?
The writer serves on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee – where he is vice chair of the aviation subcommittee – the Homeland Security Committee, and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. The 8th Congressional District covers 18 counties in Northeast Minnesota

Can you find a truly bipartisan opinion on Keystone?

Pipeline politics: Misguided Obama blocks Keystone pipeline
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/ed...

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said this week that U.S. opposition to the Keystone project is "a wake-up call" that should encourage Canadian industry to develop new markets in Asia. It reflects, he said, "the degree to which we are held hostage to decisions in the United States, and especially decisions that may be made for very bad political reasons."

60% Favor Building Keystone XL Pipeline
Most voters support the building of the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to Texas and believe it can be built without harming the environment.

Sixty percent (60%) of Likely U.S. Voters at least somewhat favor building the pipeline which President Obama has delayed until at least 2013 because of environmental concerns. Just 24% are opposed. Sixteen percent (16%) are not sure.

Moronic liberals will be used as a pawn over and over again in environmental issues.....

Just like the Dupont family used them to get R13 banned so they could sell their more expensive R134A........

By telling their sheepole friends that R13 releases free chlorine molecules into the atmosphere when a swimming pool releases more free chlorine in a day than the average car does in 30 years......LOL

I wonder if they ever get tired of being used as pawns???

Or are they smart enough to even realize that they are used as pawns??

Liberal comes from the Latin -Liber is a Latin adjective meaning free, unrestricted, unrestrained, etc. The adjective liber is likely derived from the Latin verb libero, liberare, liberavi, liberatus, which means to set free. Liber could also be used as a substantive adjective within the context of the Latin language, meaning a freeman or freedom.

Tar sands are and will be continue to be developed and there is NOTHING you or anyone else can do about it except to remain looking like a fool..........LOL

Even oslama has said he will ok the pipeline soon.........LOL

And with his meddling in the middle east and the oil supply being halted the USA will be exploiting its tar sands very soon also..........LOL

And the far left loons will be wailing and gnashing their teeth..........LOL

Yup.

“The official rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline from the President has some interesting framing … the nature of this rejection does suggest that a future plan could get approval down the road, given the proper amount of time for environmental review and routing....

nObama will watch the polls on Keystone, and then throw the environmental groups under the bus when it becomes obvious that his re-election is in peril.......and imho, time is running out for him.

every American will have at least one good reason not to vote for him.

This is what happens when government picks winners and losers from the private sector. Actually, with B.O.’s track record, has he even picked any actual winners?

Beacon Power, a Massachusetts-based company that won praise from renewable power activists and loan guarantees from the federal government, has filed for bankruptcy, potentially leaving taxpayers on the hook for $43 million.

The company, which promised to build storage devices for intermittent power produced by wind and solar power facilities, was never able to attract investors. Coming on the heels of the Solyndra bankruptcy and ensuing scandal, the Beacon Power bankruptcy has a growing number of people calling for an end to federal loan guarantees for risky alternative energy start-ups.

Global “warming” alarmists double down on their stupid: Report blames increase in mental illness to…you guessed it…”climate change”
RATES of mental illnesses including depression and post-traumatic stress will increase as a result of climate change, a report to be released today says.

The paper, prepared for the Climate Institute, says loss of social cohesion in the wake of severe weather events related to climate change could be linked to increased rates of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse.

As many as one in five people reported ”emotional injury, stress and despair” in the wake of these events.

Here is a new one.
"Range anxiety"
It is the fear of not being able to find a charger station for an electric vehicle.

Though range anxiety is essentially a negative phenomenon and not something you'd expect makers of electric cars to want associated with their products, it has been put to positive use by manufacturers General Motors (GM), who even applied to trademark the term in 2010. Capitalizing on customer fears as a marketing tactic, GM claimed that its Volt hybrid model, incorporating an internal-combustion engine which automatically kicks in after the 40 mile electric battery range is used up, was the antidote to range anxiety.

In other words: internal combustion saves the day.

The average new car converts gas to energy at a rate about double of that of current electricity producers and at a rate of less than half of the pollutants..........

But moronic liberals ignore that and still think that a electric car is cleaner than a standard gas car....

And a car that runs on propane produces even less but liberals have done everything they can to stop that also..........LOL

and in the meantime, China, and most third world countries, will pollute to their hearts content, and greenhouse gases will continue to be produced. The only change will be a poorer, jobless America and a bankrupt U.S.A.
