Major pot bust in Ukiah - over 1,000 plants seized in home
The kitchen of the raided home was nearly completely filled with budding adult marijuana plants.

I guess that MMCTF is going to send Mendocino county into a major economic downturn. This is the only money maker in the region, where are the other jobs? No timber, fishing, construction and tourist are holding tight to their money. We'll all be shopping at a gas station when all the other stores close their doors.

Why did MCTF eradicate 25 plant grow? That is within limit for medical grow - if it WERE outlaw grow, why only 25 and not 26 plus? OBVIOUSLY someone trying to play by the rules dixxed with by the man. 25 outdoor plants in Mendo is a major crime?

You care nothing about our community, only about protecting the profits of dope growers/dealers. Guess what? The party is over. It is only a matter of time and Nish will be at YOUR door. |
This is the kind of mj growing that medical proponents just cannot support! Where do I start? The fire hazard? The lack of housing in the community? The total disregard for the neighbors? I am interested in seeing how this turns out. Mendoman, there are ways to grow without putting the entire neighborhood in danger. And what's the likelihood that the money would stay in the area?

1 Well, let's see...timber is gone because of the tree hugging spotted owl loving hippie fascists Fishing? same problem, No one can afford housing because of people like the ones in this story who pay premium money to buy a house that they don't live in and consume massive amounts of electricity (who do you think is paying for all of the "missing" electrons?) Fishing, hmmmm I can go out in a 15 foot boat on the ocean. This boat is far less than a needle in the haystack yet, I can catch all the salmon i want....???? In an ocean that size, in a 15 foot boat?, I found the only salmon left in the ocean? Wow, I am sooo lucky, I bet if I walk by a lotto machine it will just spew winning numbers out at me, huh? IF there is a problem with the fishing industry it is with the "native Americans" who are "just fishing for their own sustenance" B.S. Go to klamath! you will see truckloads of Salmon which were caught by gill nets placed in the rivers by "native Americans!" This is so much B.S. the good honest hard working natives are out in the workforce contributing to society. The Lazy ones? they are on the Res, collecting their check and doing nothing! Go to a casino, what do you see? Lots and Lots of WHITE people working (except for the older generation of Natives who are generally GREAT people) ...and before you call me a racist, I am 1/16 American Indian...Wailaki to be exact so don't hit me with your names, "think" I am friend to a great many Native's who work, pay taxes and don't sponge of the gov't doles. |

Geez, sorry I got a little off topic...Medical, that's all it was, huh Reality? Think? Just medicine?
I'm so happy to see this. I look forward to seeing more. Push this criminal activity to our borders, then some. Maybe the county is going to be cleansed.

That's all we ask.

Like I said, this wasn't about medicine, nor is the money staying local. Let's not forget that MendoMan DOES have a point, that the money that stays here keeps the county going. The for-profit grows that endanger the community SHOULD be moved out and the growers shown that the mj community does NOT support those that hurt others.

HAHAHA Eureka is a ghetto!!! |

It doesn't take that much to properly wire a grow scene to where it's safe and to code. Bypassing a meter is very dangerous. When the meter is bypassed so is the circut breaker panel. When there's an electrical overload and there's no breaker guess what happens? Fire. With all the money to be made growing mj, one would think these knuckleheads would spend some and properly wire their scenes.

I don't support this type of activity, but I don't see any other activities that are making money in mendocino county. Maybe the indians with the gaming, but I think they are hurting also. I miss the old times when you could get a job that could support a family. Timber was not hurt by the tree huggers, it been way, way over cut. I actually use to work in timber so don't try that line with me.

It's grows like this one that gives legitimate growers a bad name. Bypassing the electricity places those who live nearby in danger of fires.
They should be busting these guys! |

Howdy, Mendoman... I hear what you're saying my Brotha'. This county has benefitted for a very long time from very small commercial grows... Mom and Pops if you will. Lil' gardens that good people have used for decades to supplement their incomes. The money from this lil' tiny grows greatly benefits this county. After all, the Mom and Pops live here, shop here, etc. All businesses, whether they want to admit it or not, have benefitted from this "ill-gotten booty". I'm not sure I share your belief that this particular type of grow benefits our communities. Think about it... it's an unoccupied single family dwelling, wired for 200 amps and drawing much more than that, smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood, and from what the article said, clearly designed to make the owner/operator lots and lots of money. Now I see lots of commercial growers here making lots of money. I don't see them spending it all here. Cost of living is cost of living. Just because you clear 500K per annum doesn't mean you spend that much. I see them hoarding it, moving it, or blowing it. None of these scenarios benefits us to any great degree. The last thing I'm gonna' do is stand on a stump and decry all persons who grow for a profit as demon spawn. They clearly are not. But I can't assume the position that they are all saints, either. Many of them are here simply to exploit our historically lenient marijuana laws. I see two types of writers on this forum... those who scream med-mar till they're blue in the face knowing full well it's probably the most abused law on the books and those who declare that all growers should be lined up and summarily shot. I can't espouse either position. The truth's somewhere inbetween. Shame that this position seems to be the minority position. |

You're exactly right, but these ignorant people and their BS posts must try and group every medical grower with the commercial growers. Medical/personal growers are as good neighbors/citizens/patriots as any other person in America. Medical pot in America is here to stay! If you don't like it too bad. If we legalize marijuana there will be no more commercial grows and no thieves with guns to worry about. That solves the crimes they say is due to pot. |
About fishing. Is it true that the indians can catch what ever they want. size or number limit?

There are steps needed to legalize marijuana. I don't see many that are against that. I do see many that don't want to talk about a logical approach to do it. Continuing the stubborn stand of commercial isn't the way to do it. Whether mom and pop or drug lord, they just don't want to give up the money coming in to do it right. I don't see the gov't and states back east wanting to legalize MJ when it's submerged in the crime arena. No one also wants to respond to a post regarding this train of thought. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. No one wants to actually make a sacrifice for our children and county that I see.
