Council Approves Controversial Downtown Revitalization Project

I am stunned at the decision to go ahead with the City Center Project. That intersection should be maintained as an historic district for Falls Church is so rich in history. I am sure the planning commission and the historic preservation group fought hard. It is obvious that the greed of the redevelopers shone through for I don't see any attempt to make this new plan historic in any way. I grew up in this delightful town and now I will have to go to an 8 story hotel to look down and view the tombstones of my great great grandparents in the yard at The Falls Church. What will poor Hugh Brown have to look at across from his hardware store? Shame on you City Council. Lydia Munson Giancotti

Say what? Lydia, Lydia, Lydia. The area being redevloped is practically vacant. The Bowl America is the only thing standing and has been abandoned due to storm damage for two years. Brown's hardware is going nowhere. You cannot see the Falls Church Anglican from the location (so your ancestors can RIP). The Council was heroic ... preserving our schools and building a great place. A very popular decision here in the shire.
