How does the military explain not doing something about the Major Nidal Hasan.

It is CRIMINAL that nothing was done...lives could have been saved.

Forget being politically correct. this country has gone to far, you don't try to silence danger and this is what happened at Ft Hood...danger was allowed to grow.

Let's hope this doesn't happen again.

You obviously missed everything I was saying.

I am not saying do not support the troops, it is the duty of every American citizen to support those that fight for freedom and liberty and to defend that of the constitution.

But, there is no reason why Americans (including the troops) can not question the orders they are recieving if those orders are not lawful. The orders from above the immediate commanding officiers are to be questioned. Per the constitution America is not to go to war unless that of a declaration of war approval from the congress. This has not been done since WW2. But, we have been sending troops to die all over the world without that said declaration. That makes those orders unlawful.

The Nidal Malik Hasan as al-Qaeda pasty story grows larger and more absurd with each passing hour. Now it is said Hasan reached out to the phantom terrorist group and the U.S. Army knew about this but didn’t tell anybody.

Can you say déjà vu? The story is beginning to look like a supplemental chapter in the 9/11 fairy tale.

Surprise, surprise. Bill O’Reilly is out front on characterizing Hasan as an al-Qaeda miscreant. O’Reilly offers the standard caveat about protecting the civil liberties of Muslims.

“Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused,” reports ABC News.

“In response, Hoekstra issued a document preservation request to four intelligence agencies. The letter, dated November 7th, was sent to directors Dennis Blair (DNI), Robert Mueller (FBI), Lt. Gen Keith Alexander (NSA) and Leon Panetta (CIA).”

Hoekstra is in a tizzy because “the house intel committee has been refused an intelligence briefing by the DNI or CIA on Hasan’s attempt to reach out to al Qaeda.”

Mr. Hoekstra should of course realize the CIA does not answer to Congress or the American people.

In order to build another fantastic prop for the GWOT — designed to last for decades, if not indefinitely — the government needs on occasion to cobble together fantastic yarns about demonic Muslims who hate us because of our freedoms (sic).

If the imam Anwar al-Awlaki is not a CIA stooge, he may be auditioning for the position. ABC reports:

In a blog posting early Monday titled “Nidal Hassan Did the Right Thing,” Awlaki calls Hasan a “hero” and a “man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people.”

Obviously, Mr. al-Awlaki is a psychopath who marvels over the prospect of dead infidels. He is either a CIA plant or a mental case. The two are usually mutually inclusive.

In order to cast a lurid pall over the shootings, ABC and the Mockingbird corporate media are now characterizing the gun Hasan supposedly used as a “cop killer” weapon (a leading term as if there ever was one — almost any gun can kill a cop or anybody else for that matter).

Major Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly packed a FN Herstal Five-seveN tactical pistol, which according to federal law enforcement officials, was legally purchased from the “Guns Galore” shop in Killeen, Texas in Aug. 2009. The store’s manager, David Cheadle, said that particular firearm can hold 20 rounds in a standard clip and take a ten round clip extension. Cheadle said with one clip and one round in the chamber, one could fire 31 rounds before reloading.

Get ready for control freak Democrats to start calling for this particular gun and extended round magazines to be banned. In fact, they will call for all handguns to be banned and the hype surrounding the Fort Hood murders will certainly pump more hysteria into the gun-grabber movement.

You are technically, and ultimately right,but;
Sorry, it is not a soldier's job to interpret the constitution in his orders. The meaning of lawful orders is spelled out in the military regulations and Uniform Code of Military Justice.

A test of your theory was just made by Army Lt.Ehren K. Watada.
"Military Justice" left the water very muddy. I'm sure nobody is satisfied with that result.

Guns should not be banned, but they should be regulated.

Ammunition that fits guns often used in crimes should be highly taxed, and the victims should receive succor from the proceeds.

We citizens have let down our soldiers.
We placed in office a President who sent troops into danger for his own reasons, based on lies, with no national interest to satisfy.
Our soldiers are not wrong, they can never be wrong for doing their duty. It is we, the voting public, who failed them.
Thank you, and all of our vererans for your service.
THANK YOU.
you start out by saying soldiers should follow lawful orders, and then say we sent them for personal reasons DUH they were following lawful orders. you have no concept of the military, military strategy or any more gumption to military decisions than the loon in the white house. typical liberal.....wennie's to the end.

I didn't misunderstand what you said. Your words sounded and continue to sound as if you and Major Hasan share similar beliefs.

I repeat: Ii's to our country's benefit that you're no longer in the military (if you ever were.) I have no doubt that you weren't missed when you left.

That is a pretty stupid assumption to make. You know what happens when you assume. You look like an ass. You know nothing of me. And I will tell you. Hasan and his anti-dpressant self medicating whacko and I do not have the same beliefs.

I served my country proudly and I would do it again if it called upon me. I followed the orders of my superiors without questioning them (due to the fact we were not in a illegal war). You are an idiot to make assumptions of people you know nothing about.

I didn't assume anything. I pointed out that your sentiments sound remarkably similar to those of Major Hasan.

And they do. You even go so far as to state that the only reason you followed orders is that "we
we were not in a illegal war."

As I said, it's to our country's benefit that you're no longer in the military (if you ever were.) I have no doubt that you weren't missed when you left.

I'm sorry that your dad suffers and, as a vet myself who comes from a large family of vets, I especially respect his service.

However, I'm absolutely disgusted by your post that dishonors and discredits the sacrifices our vets have made at the very time of a holiday that is meant to honor and celebrate their service to their country.

If you have something to say about the people who send our men to war, then by all means say it...but be big enough to do in in a different forum.
