Veterans Day: our quietest holiday

Full story: www.fayettedailynews.com

Of the annual patriotic American holidays, Veterans Day is perhaps the most somber and low key. The weather isn’t conducive to Memorial Day or Labor Day style barbecues; the kids still have to go to school and most of us will go to work. I’ve never been invited to a ‘Veterans Day Dinner’ or turned on the television to watch a special Veteran’s Day parade or sporting event. .

I wonder how long it will take for President Dipshit to turn Veteran's Day into a National Day of Service.

He was doing no such thing. If you think he was "pissing on our veterans", the proper question is what the Hell is wrong with you?

Veterans really do not care for what Politicians do or do not do,or say on this day...yes their is respect for the many in Government, who served their country. Some great men in the Senate on both sides of the currant political spectrum. Many with the wounds of yesterday!..They get respect..so Called civilians can never experience what these millions of quite vets think..for the vets think the real hero's and the neglected are the ones who never came home.

Any vet will tell you its those kids buried all over the world who lay quietly, and almost forgotten, are the Hero's.Weather in Khaki,Blue, Camo, or Grey, hero's all!

Those of us ,and others can only remember them, and peek about their huge stature seeking for our selves a miserable grave......

They, the Kids of eternity, need no eulogy from any one..their story is written in blood on the enemy's throat.....America and God will always remember them....

We come a long way from that worst of generations the 60s and the 70s a time when the Vets had to endure unspeakable insult and ridicle..Trouble is many of that WORST generation are in government now!

Hope they realize the insanity of their youth, while others died!...take a moment and thank them! For they live,....only to die if forgotten!

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
- Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister
Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
-Hermann Goering, President of the Nazi Reichstag

It’s not OK that we went into Iraq, killled over 1.3 million innocent civilians, polluted their soil and water with depleted uranium munitions, displaced millions of other Iraqis, and have turned their country into a third-world cesspool so that we could control their oil. It’s not OK that we went into Afghanistan so that we could re-invigorate the opium trade (which had been all but decimated by the Taliban), keep the black market money flowing to fund the CIA, ISI, MI6, Mossad, etc., and ensure record crops of poppy fields while "our troops" stand guard. Pat Tillman was about to come home and expose it all until he was murdered by his own government.
So, my fellow Americans, please understand that when you blindly say you "support the troops" because that’s what good Americans do, you are only supporting the individual and NOT their command or their mission. For it has been proven that their mission is a lie, a fraud, unconstitutional and illegal. Support the individual and pray for their safety - not only from our "supposed" enemies who are merely defending their own homeland, sovereignty, property and natural resources, but from those in our own government who use them merely as instruments in their sick and twisted game of global empire and world domination. As Henry Kissinger, one of the long-time establishment’s "elite" minions and another questionable winner of the Nobel "Peace" Prize, so bluntly put it, "Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy." This is the same attitude of your leaders in DC.
Yes, it is sad that our troops have been reduced to the heavy hand enforcers of western "democracy" under a corrupt and tyrannical American government. Our troops are now nothing more than the strong arm of the global mafia: the cabal of central banks and greedy corporations of the world working in concert to rob the wealth of nations and impoverish and enslave the good people of the world. These criminals own the entire military industrial complex, to include the "troops" and these are the same people pushing hard for their "global government" which will be pushed further down the path to realization in Copenhagen, Denmark this December under the guise of once again, "saving humanity from itself."

Did my capitalist comment, offend your little socialist feelings?

That what the Community Organizer tried to do with September 11th, why wouldn't the little puke try to do it to Veteran's Day.

The point is that you use Veterans Day, a day set aside to HONOR our Vets, as an opportunity to rant about how their sacrifice and honoring them is without merit. That's contemptible, whether you're a veteran or not.

P.S. What sane individual talks about themselves in the third person?

I agree.
The duty of a soldier is to follow his lawful orders.

The duty of citizens is to make sure that our government uses our brave troops wisely.

We citizens have let down our soldiers.
We placed in office a President who sent troops into danger for his own reasons, based on lies, with no national interest to satisfy.

Our soldiers are not wrong, they can never be wrong for doing their duty. It is we, the voting public, who failed them.

Thank you, and all of our vererans for your service.
THANK YOU.

I agree, as a vet, I become disgusted in what I see from DC and how these globalist elitist do and how they use our military members for their corrupt games.

Unfortunately, majority of our military members do not understand what they are doing and only following orders as I once did. It goes back to the dumbing down of the population by the globalist. If our military members knew what was going on and who was giving them their orders, they would realize that the enemy to constitution the members have pledged to protect is that of their own superiors.

That is not the primary duty. The primary duty is to defend and protect the constitution. Then comes the obeying of the lawful orders of their superiors. Now if the superiors are giving orders against that of the constitution, those orders are no longer lawful.

Maybe if you don't live in Hicksville, GA you would have done this. Where I grew up in Ohio, we ALWAYS had a Veteran's Day BBQ on my block. And I remember at least once there was a Veteran's day celebration at the square downtown. But then again, I guess maybe we just had city leaders that cared about veterans.

Its Duty,HonorCountry...it may be Duty,Honor,My buddy,my family..in any case you would be correct...Some here have already ,tried to Politicize this..Dont bother, its been done by the Pros..not to long ago the Majority wipe Durban,of ILL. was denigrating the solders ,awful things..calling the Nazi like and worse...Then it Was Sen. Kerry, himself a military guy...acussing his fellow military of horrendous things...so do not bother..The Liberal Loons always take shots at brave American military..From the Viet Nam era,it persisted...Now Its popular to heap praise on the soldiers...its God Dam Hypocritical to hear the likes of Durban, and Kerry...Durbin had to make an appoligy on the floor of the Senate..Kerry?..This guy is really troubling...Reputable comrades question his service..So do I..Any Soldier who renounces his country, heaps abuse on comrades, and throws his medals away is a disgrace.Calls Soldiers idiots,uneducated...Kerry had more in common with Jane Fonda than the troops of the day.

Sen. John MC Cain had advise for them..WATCH YOUR WORDS..a polite way of saying Shut Your F564King trap!

So lets stop the Liberal,Loony,Radical bullshit...Solders do not burn flags..its the Loons who do so! Loons insult the military..always do always did!...those kids returning from Nam suffered more so at the Bus Stops,Train Stations,Terminals ,always being harassed. By the Flower slime!Ya Forgot Them? or were you born yet! Were you in Canada? Or did you burn your draft card?Hippy Pot Smoking Bastards they are!.BABY KILLERS,NAZIES,MURDERERS..they endured these insults by them...So Stop the Phony Loon shit!Loons have done enough!...

Too bad and sadly the dead kids are not around..they would tell you things!

Its veterans day Let the living remember, and the dead rest in peace!

It's to our country's benefit that you're no longer in the military (if you ever were.) I have no doubt that you weren't missed when you left.
