I heard Billerica had some pretty bad crime, biker gangs, and drug problems in the 70's 80's and 90's. Could someone fill me in on the extent of this and where things like this took place and any stories they might have...I find it kind of interesting.

I don't think crime is any worse in Billerica than in Tewksbury or Woburn. Every town has it's bad seeds.

That's what I said. Every town in the entire USA has drugs.
I don't know what this person is talking about when they say bikers. They live everywhere too.
In the late 60's early 70's the motorcycle gang the Barons were located in Pinehurst - which is what people remember most - they were mostly gone by the mid 70's.

I would not say fabrication..at all The Barons started in Billerica and are still a club, albiet not as prominent or as "aggressive" But the whole climate and times have changed since the 70`s and I feel if you were not around then, you will NEVER have a true feeling as to what it was like..I was around and it was a good time!

The Headsmans club is still in Billerica, isn't it?
Nice people....
Not sure if they still are.

The Baron's Club house was down the street from us in the early 70's - my father was such a hippie hater - OMG - everytime they would drive by on their choppers - we used to take bets how long before we had to listen to his tirades yet again

I remember going down wilson st and seeing shoes all over the telephone wires just thinking to myself why in the hell are there so many shoes up there...Come to find out the reason for that is so people buying drugs knew which houses sold because they had shoes hanging out front.

Wilson Street was bad news. I lived within walking distance of it. My mother used to tell us that if she ever found out we were on Wilson St. she would break our legs! I went to school with some people who lived on the street though. Not everyone was a bad seed.
