Unless you frisk everyone one that enters or invest in medal detection systems you can't deter another nut-job from making a name for himself by murdering a popular community figure (all he did was martyr the doctor and did a big dis-service to the pro-life and pro-gun groups).

Unless there was a threat to this church it seems way over the top for them to do this.

I think this has more to do with a mega church and their offering collection. I've been to this church before and there were uniform cops in the lobby when I walked in. It was a huge turn off for me.

Good points! They are there justifying themselves with all their 'good works'. Seems like God would be taking care of them but alas...he's turned them over to their own perverted minds.

Yes, you should definately have armed guards at church becuase if your not going to follow Jesus's example and kill millions of inocent lives you will reap what you sow. It won't matter if you got 2 guards for every member of the church. This church shouldn't have any problems if they really are following the babtist way and adhering to the full doctrine which would include expelling anyone like Mass Murdered Tillman from thier church. Forgiveness is one thing but you shouldn't give a pearl to swine lest they turn and rend you.

Baptists are strange folk. They see themselves as some kind of persecuted minority.

He is the same yesterday and forever. He never changes. When you're perfect changing would just make you imperfect. The funny (strange) thing is when it's all over they will be some of the ones that say didn't I do many might works in your name. He will say I never knew you. There won't be any darkness on that day all men will see exactly what they have done and will be asking for the mountains to fall on them and the rocks to hide them from God that comes on the scene. I would have to say that's some kind of panic.

How is that "religion caving in on itself" ?

Sounds more like the world trying to cave in on people of faith.

This is a great idea. Why more chruches and public places have not done this beats me. You have to protect yourself. Its great that one chruch is leading the way. BTW where do we get the idea that using a gun in self defense is wrong. The Bible is against MURDER! Self Defense is not MURDER its justifiable homicide. I know my Jesus would want me to protect myself if someone was trying to hurt me.
