kids riding 4-wheelers

I want to say that my son was riding on behind his friend, on a 4-wheeler. The deputy sees them, and the first thing that goes through a kids mind is to run! So that's what they do, but while trying to get away from the law, they wreck! Well, the driver gets up, sees the law coming at them, and gets back on the 4-wheeler and leaves my son there! Not caring if he is dead or alive! What i'm getting at, is that these kids are terified of the law! Instead of respecting the law, they are afraid of the law, because of what the other kids have told them about how they were treated by our law enforcement! I was taught to obey the law, but this generation, is completely out of control! Drugs and Alcohol is to blame, barr none! We as a county have to do something about the drug dealers in this county once and for all! And as for our deputy sheriffs, act like an adult, and don't chase a kid on a 4-wheeler and cause em to wreck and kill themselves! Because as soon as the blue lights go on, they are gonna run, because they are afraid our law enforcement! A kid shouldn't be afraid of the law! But that is what has become of the trust that once was. The law needs to think before they cause another kid to hit a rock cliff head on! All because they can impound their 4-wheeler! A kid is in critical condition.I'm not asking the law to overlook them, just remember, speak to someone like you want to be spoken too!

Take the 4 wheelers away from the kid. Doesn't the parent have any control over the kid?

If they were obeying the law----they wouldn't have to run now would they?

Since you can't comprehend anything that was said at the beginning, that is why kids run! They are scared to death of the law, dumbass!

First,The Police have to obey the law before they can ask some one else too!you got deputys rideing four wheeler with his grandkids on the back of it,up and down the road..then another deputy who lets his son & Daughter ride same road,They shouldn't ask others to obey when they don't...one deputy has put a horse stable over top of Graves on RT.1559 and theirs is silver war veterans buried there, so what makes any one think that the law is to be respected here?I for one don't.......

Thank you, for telling the truth and understanding what I am trying to get across to the people in this county! the law has no respect for us, so why should we have any respect for them? and for the deputy that put a horse stable on a gravesite, that is the most sickest thing that a human being could do! what type of lawman does something so sick? I think that needs to be checked out further and something done about it! give up more info,ok?

ask the sheriff or his nephew they know the deputy and hire him any way...costed him by vote.and all family members.a lot of people in sitka about it.

Couldn't agree more with "gossamer"...parents take control of your kids. It's not the police, teacher,or preacher who is responsible for your child or their actions...It's YOU...BE A PARENT, NOT A BUDDY.

well you are so right,But if the deputy and their children ride why can't I & everyone...and I have never seen a Helmet on none of them..I do believe the point here is that they are suppose to be Illegal on the roads,with some exceptions,should eliminate selective enforcement...

Children under 16 should not be on a 4 wheeler period. Just because your sherif is risking the lives of his children does not mean you should. I live Madison county and work in the Madison county elem. school system. At the beginning of the school year a 10 year old boy had his leg broke due to a atv, a few weeks later a 11 year had his arm broke. Sadly enough a child lost his life on November 13th who was 10 while riding a atv. He went to Shannon Johnson Elem. He was a friend to my 8 year old son. I live on a farm and the atvs here are not to be operated by my children what so ever. I am their mother and it is my duty to protect my children. If your sherif is dumb enough to ride his grandchildren on a atv especially when the law says he shouldn't you all need to contact someone ( state police) who will see to it he learns the law. Please protect your own children. Kentucky ranks 10th in the nation for children hurt on ATVS.

kyhill-hop...you have taken me wrong,I think they should make them illegal,and if they going to put them on the road and continue buying them they should have to license and pay vehicle insurance like we do on cars! that would slow them down alot..betcha,I wouldn't have one of them.I've hear to many stories about people getting hurt on them..My point is you have too tag motor-cycles,that go on the road,so how many four wheelers do you see on the road?let them insure them,I have seen deputy's riding on the roads with theirs grand children,no helmets,yet they can't seams to understand they are the LAW...they set the example....you know it..

If I could tell all the parents out there is they shouod outlaw thoso 4 wheelers. Las Saturday my son who was 20 years old had a wread and killed on one. The road was slick and we have 22 acreas to ride but the kids all want to meet at a friends house snf oivkpick rvrt up. He was a gooed straight a student in college snf esd gong yo Texas A&A in the fall. These were the nices people you would very meet. Please don't buy 4 wheels for your kids even though they ask for one. Mothers out there you don't want to ever do.
