with 14 years of working in the court system is is evident that the da in this case is trying to make a name for her self by attacking a man that stands for what is right and takes a stand against things he beleives is wrong. If Captain Collins wasnt a well known individual would brown be wanting to retry him so bad?? i bet not

I suggest you find out who else pete collins has molested, and I suggest you look into how his first wife died. That'll bring some startling information.

Pete Collins' first wife is living in Central Mississippi. There is no startling information. I believe someone is posting out of revenge. I am a friend of Pete Collins and know what I am talking about. At least post the truth. I fully agree with Paul from Foley.

i KNOW THAT HE KEPT SNEAKING AROUND WITH HIS PRESENT WIFE BEHIND HER HUSBANDS BACK. HER HUSBAND HAD LOVED HER SINCE HIGH SCHOOL AND HAD BEEN MARRIED TO HER FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS......STILL IN LOVE WITH HER AND NEVER CHEATED ON HER OR GAVE HER REASON TO LEAVE HER.

I am not sure that Pete and William form MI are talking about the same article . I also understand that MS doesn’t allow polygraphs into the courts, this is so with most states however not only are polygraphs used in most states the federally courts also allow them to be used as a instigative tool. So I ask why is it that brown will not use all resources to investigate this case did brown not learn in law school that justice is blind and that as a part of the government you are to investigate booth side equally . In cases where there is physical evidence then you must deal with only the facts of the evidence and what it can prove, however when you are dealing with a case that is based on testimony of the victims or wittiness then what do you use to determine what the facts are? Is brown a human lie detector or is brown only wanting justice to see what brown wants justice to see. Also if Captain collins had not already taken and passed a polygraph I bet brown would be asking him to take one but now that it appears that he has proven his credit ability and ask brown to have the “victim” to do the same why is brown against it?
Why not use all the investigative tools that you can? Is it not that the guilt must be proven? It seems that Captain Collins is doing every thing that he can to help the prosecution, by taking the polygraph and he is still proving his innocents. I was taught that the best way to prove a case is to disprove it, if you cant disprove it then it is a good case, this has proven to be successful in numerous cases. So why is brown so against disproving the case? It seems that Captain Collins and his attorneys are doing that for them, by taking a polygraph on his own

It takes two to tango, if Pete was committing adultery with another man's wife don't you think she has to take half of the blame? The only innocent people were his first wife and the woman's husband he was messing around with.
Least we not forget, let those without sin cast the first stone and judge ye not least ye be judged.

Pete's present wife was my wife for twenty years. I thought he was my friend too, but found out differently after she divorced me. Friends later told me that he would show up in our driveway when I was working. One person found him in our bed. Believe what you will--but I'm very happy now with a wonderful wife, 2 kids and my third grandchild on the way. As a Christian I have learned to forgive them both and move on.

Believe what you will --but I thought that he was my best friend at one time, too! But he is married to my ex-wife of 20 yrs who divorced me to be with him! I didn't see it coming but neighbors and friends later told me that he would show up at my house when I was off working. One said that they even saw him in my bed.
It doesn't matter anymore because I have a wonderful wife and two sons- plus grandchildren! God has been good to me and I've learned to forgive them as He has forgiven me! Please don't contact me as it is no longer my worry. I just hope that she'll be happy someday.

The above William comments are correct. He just forgot to change the address on his comments as I did on mine. But for some child's sake, I hope it never happened!!
I really appreciate the friends who have backed me up but as I said, no matter what, as a Christian I can't expect Our Lord to forgive me if I can't forgive them. Having know her since Jr. High, I will always wish her the best in life and keep her in my prayers. I was blessed with a new family shortly after the divorce - someone whom I'd never met until I moved back with my parents. She had two small boys who called me Daddy and now are fine, married young men with careers. One has two children now, and the other is expecting their first on my 60th birthday this year. My regrets are behind me and I try not to hold animosity against them. By the way - my wife and I hold no secrets and I let her read my comments. She is a very understanding person with demons in her past, also, which she has overcome. I live in MS by the way - not MI. We've all made bad choices in life but forgiveness is just a prayer away !!!! bye

Sad day that our society has come to the point that slander is thrown around so freely. Though some of these comments are surely the truth, some are not. Your energy would be better spent elsewhere, either moving on or simply ignoring such rubbish. If you're interested to defend Pete Collins, then take the time to show up at court or give him a call directly. If you have proof that he committed a crime, talk to the DA.

Pete is a scumbag. He considers himself a GREAT man; however, he cheated on his wife for well over a year with Becky Gaston (Cullifer) a teacher at LBHS. I witnessed this myself. They spent weekends together in hotels and he even purchased her a cell phone in his name to hide the relationship. There were times his wife went to Italy and she would stay in their home with him outside of Jackson. Wow, what a great man he is!

Pete Collins was convicted on one count of a felondy act of molestation of a then 13 year old girl in Tupelo Mississippi. He was convicted on 8/23/08 and sentenced on 8/24/08 to serve 10 years in the state prison at Parchman, MS. On Sunday the 26th he hung himself in his jail cell while awaiting processing to the next level of his imprisonment. Having known him personally, having heard him on numerous occassions, and knowing personally two of his victims from the early 80's I can only imagine how many other victims are alive and damaged. He made his choices, his years of public service will be remembered by the shadow of a man, hanging in his prison cell abandoned of hope and filled with the reality of his guilt. Turn the page and pray for the victims, they still breathe

I find it hard to believe that no one around this man knew he was sick. its sad that he has ruined young females lives. That is sad because statistics show that it a cycle. I hope he is burning in hell. The god i serve says that sucide is not a forgiven sin. So i hope he continues to burn.

I believe pete collins was innocent. I've seen pete speak in person many times, as he worked closely with my father. I suggest that maybe you all should know all of the facts in his case. As he passed two lie detector tests, however they were not allowed in as evidence. Maybe you all who believe he is guilty should know all the facts. This further proves how our legal system is flawed.

You need all your facts before you comment about things you know nothing about. Check court records for Madison County, Pete filed for divorce in 2002. I did not start working for Pete until 2003. As for me spending the night at Pete's home while his wife was in Italy, for your information so did my daughter, a friend, and my son and his friend. In addition, my brother and sister-in-law visited while we were there. For your information, the cell phone was used for business reasons, I helped Pete with public relations and reservations, flights, etc. So please do not accuse someone of something before you know all the facts.

God, you people are amazing. Pete's first wife, my aunt, is alive and in mourning. As is the rest of the family.

Remember he was someone's father, grandfather, and Uncle.

It's so easy to write hate on these forums, not so easy to think about the families of all involved.

Filing for divorce and being divorced are two different things. Wow, its 2007 and HE STILL ISN'T DIVORCED! Wonder if he ever planned to get a divorce?
