If I recall, a dragstrip was to be built before the dirt track, but due to internal politics a dirt track was built,I remember when drag racing was available in otero county and there were alot more participants and bigger crowds. So, when are we going to get a dragstrip ????

They no longer do them at Holloman. La Luz also use to have a drag strip but that was before their elementary school was even built.

Is Dennis Crimmins the registered sex offender that people talk about all the time? I hope not. That could really make things difficult for the speedway and that really blows. I'm sorry Sertoma had so many problems. The races are a fun way to spend an evening.

Yep, the same one. Wonderful thought right. He and Ted will make a great team. At least Ted seems to go for older women.

Please don't bring Mac into this. This isn't about him and he had nothing to do with that other thing.

Of course not he is just a good Christian right. Yeah I buy that one. He resigned for nothing instead of staying bravely to fight the accusation. Yeah the bible teaches you to run and hide when you have done nothing wrong.

The only thing I an come up with for this situation is to BOYCOTT these events.
But you know that wont happen, as the town is crying out for somewhere to go and have fun on a Friday and Saturday night.
I have the same opinion about Mc. as you do by the way.
And I think you know my opinion by now about sexual predators of children.

I'd sure like to know what his conditions of release are, etc. Because I'm pretty sure registered sex offenders are not allowed to be around kids and if he's owning a business that caters to families, that sure seems like a problem to me.

In fact, it boggles my mind that he was even allowed to purchase the track and that the Daily News hasn't caught on to the fact that this is going on. Very VERY bizarre situation.

Why don't all of you with inquiring minds and so much time get on the internet and do some research on Mr. Crimmins and find out FACTS before you start slinging mud. Especially when you want to include Ted in there also. QoF, I'm sure you have nothing to hide and you lead a picture perfect life so you are the one to judge us all in the end, right. Like I have said before, don't throw stones in your own glass house.

My family has gone to Sertoma a couple times SEVERAL years ago when they brought monster trucks in for an event. Well, now that I know who's hand's its in, my family WON'T be back.

I thought I recognized the name, forget the dragstrip, instead of being interested in racing, he'll just be interested in the little girls in the grandstand. My grand-daughter won't be going out there, neither will I

Am I out of line here or is there something to be concerned about??? You sound like this is just rumor and gossip, but this is something that should be of genuine concern, shouldn't it?

If something were to happen, who would be foolish and stupid then??? Wouldn't the statement be, "Well Alamogordo, didn't you already know, wasn't he on the website? Wasn't that a clue to you?"

Would we just say Yea, we knew but thought it would be different this time or thought things were different now??

I think this is an issue of concern. I think we all need to think about this issue. Not rumor and gossip, but valid issues. It would be good for other opinions as well. Maybe I am not seeing the whole picture, I don't know. This is not an issue that this town talks about freely.

I know nothing of the assertations about the new track managment. I am only a guy who used to race a bomber there. I was ready to race again this year until the new rules came about that made it prohibitive for me to modify my car to be in compliance with the 2008 rules for bombers.
This is the only way that I know to respectfully ask the rules people to revert back to the bomber rules of a couple of years ago as applies to the bombers. I have no problem with the new helmet and window net rules.
It took me more than two years to get an engine and transmission up to speed. The new rules have made my car illegal.
I do not know what the car count, especially bombers, has been for the last two weeks but if it was down please consider my opinions. If you do, car 51,the green Skylark that caught fire in 2005 will be back and I hoe better than ever. Please find a way to let us know what is happening. I really want to race again.
