I am sick and tired of the way Sherwood police harass average working citizens of Sherwood. There are way too many officers, so obviously they get bored. And yes, they do have a quota. I'll never believe they don't. Everyone I've spoken to in Sherwood confirms that they get extremely expensive tickets for contrived offenses. My sister has never been pulled over in 20 years and was just given a ticket for $260 supposedly running a stop sign. The concept of her running a top sign is preposterous. And $260 for a first-time ticket? They also used to stop my friend who was walking, yes walking, home from the bus stop all the time. His crime? He's black! OMG!! They also showed up to another acquaintance's house because his baby was crying. Next on "Crimes of the Century!" The motorcycle cop always hides on people's personal propery. Tacky. They sit at the Safeway and run license plates as well. This is just ridiculous. There's no excuse for their behavior.

Yeah, my cousin got pulled over for a passenger not wearing a seat-belt, it happened to be his big dog cody. I agree, sherwood police officers are way too bored, but I'd rather have bored police than a high crime rate!:)

Sorry but I had to read these comments and laugh. I don't care about the Sherwood Police either way. But let me get this straight..One guy forgets his insurance card and the Police are wrong. A woman runs a stop sign in which the Cop will have to testify to all the details and we have to take the word of the poster that the "The concept of her running a top sign is preposterous"? I guess the fact that thousands of kids that are killed every year by people is preposterous. And to the one with the dog not wearing his seatbelt...he should feel lucky he did not get the summons he should have gotten for having the animal in a pet container which is the law although it never seems to be enforced much. hey just don't call them when you need then if you dislike them so much. Hey just saying...

There are reasons to that, police's motivation and practice have changed. It's not just Sherwood, but everywhere you go. Sherwood polices maybe more extreme because it's a small town with a big city government.
But the main reason that police are being such ass holes because of the "BAD ECONOMY". Government offices from any level are running on a low budget. So in order to keep their job, polices are out to raise money by micro-enforcing the traffic laws and citing every little mistake. That's the easiest and fastest way to raise money to save their asses. They need to understand that when economy goes south, people are affected, too. Why forcing people into a deeper financial hole and jeopardizing their insurance. Have some compassion when you are citing people for little errors. We, the teachers, workers and etc, are losing our job every day. Why being so coward abouting losing your job?
