I agree with Mr. Eigen. I went to Marissa's on a Saturday night and they had a bouncer, dress code, and music blaring. Marissa's needs to realized they are not in South Norwalk, or Manhattan. It is a place for friends to hang out, not go clubbing.

Then stay in Danbury.... because there is nothing else in Trumbull/Monroe and if Harborside can get away with it so can Marisa's. Go DJ Rob Newberry!!!!!!

The Town's accusations are ridiculous. Marisa's has been providing entertainment for years from bands to comedians in their squishy little bar. Isn't this why they added their addition so they could provide entertainment. So the neighboors in the back would not hear the noise.I see no problem with a bouncer. Most bars have a bouncer. It is not like there is much to do in this town.

Then they will complain about nothing to do and loss of jobs and businesses in town when they move elsewhere.

BS Mr. Marini - all the female (and male) divorcees from Monroe love to hang out out your nightclub! They like the music and drinking, not your food. In fact nobody ever talks about your food, funny since your a restaurant, supossedly. An actual quote I heard 2 weeks ago as a large group of females from Monroe were planning to go to your place was..."bring bail money...". I'm not sure what that meant since I've never been to your "restaurant". I tired once and cou;dn't even get in the parking lot to look for a space. Again, funny I never hear anyone complimenitng your food. Curious - what is the big attraction there, Mr. Marini? If not the food, what else do you offer. Could it be the bar and music they seek. Yopu bet, from what I've heard. Great place to pick-up divorced women from what I hear. You don't normally har that about a restaurant - only bars or night clubs. Interesting.

Maybe because the food is overpriced and average at best.

I've heard LOTS of complaints about Marisa's - food is expensive and not worth it. Apparently people only go there cause there is no where else. Marisa's is convenient. That's the only positive. BTW - YES - it sounds like Marisa's is trying to be part "nightclub" - Thank you Mr. Eigen!!!!!!

I ate there and was sick for days. The people they are attracting will not keep them in business.. They are asking for trouble.Trumbull does not need a night club with teenagers! All the people there were underage! Come on what do you think you will get? If you would like a great place to eat and drink, at reasonable prices go to TESTO'S in Bridgeport! You will be glad you did!! Stay away from Marisa's, your only asking for trouble! I will Never go back in that dump!

People were having sex in a car the night we were there! Gross, inside there was vomit on the floor. What kind of people is this bar bringing to Trumbull? We will NEVER go back! Talk about trashy! I think the Police department should start patroling in that parking lot... Once this happens, the trash will stay out of Trumbull!!!!! Please do not let this become a night club!

For the people that go to Marisa's... there is 2 senarios they either have a good time or they dont. Inlovewithdanbury... okay for the past 10 years they been there they always had a "bouncer" working the weekends. The dress code is simple if your not dressed properly than go somewhere else. The music is loud? really? than can you explain to me when the police patrol outside, a noise complaint comes in about loud music, and the police officer even says the music isnt that loud.

I feel bad for the neighbors. It does seem like every year they try to expand just a little bit more....and it gets a bit louder every year also. All you need is a cop with a breathalyzer there checking the exiting cards after midnight and that's it...so long Marissa's!!

Exactly and Marisa's doesn't play Hip Hop. I know the DJ for Friday's and I know he doesn't even play that. Underage people??? Yet the other post are divorcees. Look they may be young but I doubt underage. They aren't going to risk the business they bring on friday and saturdays to underage kids. Harborside was great until they started to do the hip hop night.

Yeah and Bridgeport hates Testo all the neighbors can't stand that they built that place the way they did. So either way no one is happy about anyplace like that no matter where it is. because of a bunch of stuffy people. Let people live and enjoy the night. They haven't had any issues of underage drinking. They haven't had any bar brawls.

I know what they got shut down for I use to work there so did my husband,... Well in fact I met my husband there (probably why I have a soft spot for that place). Harborside was great when it first opened and they weren't doing a ton of hip hop. They would play a little but not much. You can't blame the DJ or the bartenders etc... for what the jack a s s at the door is letting in. You tell him no long tees, no hats no timbs and yet people wearing that stuff still gets in. that is the door man not the rest of the staff. However, Marisa's will never be that way Bridgeport and Stratford would be too scared to drive there because of the cops.

I miss the open air patio. The new "dining" area appears to have been designed to accomodate musical entertainment with very high ceilings for better acoustics. I think they should continue to host the same type of entertainment as they have for years and there shouldn't be a problem. I like the food :) although overpriced.
