If I honestly believed that our Ohio State troopers are out in the wee hours to maintain our safety then I also believe that Saddam was a Boy Scout troop leader. It is for monetary gain for the little hamlets in which they so proudly serve. They are simply an extension of Triple A (AAA) with a badge. Real police work is simply not in their best interest for after all that Thug or Dope Dealer might have a gun.

I just happen to be one of many who is able to recognize the over zealous, over attituded, over uniformed and over equipped Boy Scout troop that call themselves the Ohio State Highway Patrol. It sounds to me that you are probably one of those "Wannabe's" that settled for acopmlishing half the job. After all being a "Buckeye Bear" gives the appearance of being a real policeman (from a distance). Their organization is a waste of good taxpayer's money.

They are responsible for the roads, If someone is stupid enough to go through a check point drunk, without their seat belt then they should also be able to brand them stupid on their forehead...I think all the people who's family or friends have been killed by these drivers that the check points are to catch would have wished there was one on that road... the normal everyday policing is meant for city and county, officers. Troopers real are mainly traffic officers to keep are highways safe....

DO YOU SEE POLICE CHECK POINTS NEAR OR IN RICH AREAS ? OF COURSE NOT . DO YOU SEE POLICE CHECK POINTS IN LAS VEGAS ....OF COURSE NOT . Mike, you really need to get off the drugs. It's either that or you are one of the most ridiculously stupid people to have ever exercised your 1st Amendment right. Drug dealers and child molesters? instead of protecting the public? Have you seen the horror drunk drivers wield in crashes? I have. A brief intrusion into your "right of travel" is perfectly legal. And the Supreme Court sgrees. Checkpoints are established in areas that have a high frequency of DUI offenders and fatal crashes. And yes, Las Vegas has them...I just got back from there and saw one. If this WERE a Nazi state, you would have already been arrested and executed.

First doctrine reads in whose mind the crime committed in. Whenver police sets up check point or a profit center its an entrappment because they already have drill the crime in their mind before any citizen has came close to the checkpoint. This is why its against the law cuz it destory justice system. Our rights to innoicent is gone and we become society of guilty until proven innocient. Citizen needs to become active in our system and stop the govt from being crooks. We all can joke and mouth off at each other but the truth is our way of live is being destory by our system.

Entrapment? The police didn't tell you to drive drunk and roll up into the checkpoint. Same with "speed traps". The police didn't tell you to speed...they only trap the ones breaking the law. We have all said, at one time or another, "Look at that idiot! Where are the police when you need them?" Now they are there and YOU don't need them. Why don't we do this...Let's tell the police to sit around at the donut shops (we know all of them do this) and wait for you to call when you need them. To hell with traffic enforcement! To hell with proactive policing! Better yet...Let's all buy guns and take care of things ourselves. Unfortunately, you would probably be one of the first ones dead. Mike would likely be next.

Thank goodness you live in California, Its as easy as the only way you can get caught is if you are doing wrong. Check Points are usually ran around holidays, concerts and high times that people will be driving drunk... They set up these to protect the families that are out on the holidays, or the innocent people driving on the roads while the drunks and druggies are driving. Also we know that you think its for money but the police department usually only get around 10 to 12 dollars a ticket the money goes to the court system , so we can pay judges, prosecuters, and attorneys for the druggies and drunks who cannot afford thier own. I drink but I either have a driver or I drink at home...I also am fine with checkpoints, I say protect me my family and friends...
