Once again... where are the parents and why are they unaware of where their little kids are? Or do they wait for a tragedy and then blame everyone but themselves?

at 8 and 10 yrs, these kids should be at home or with their parents at 9 pm. My 9 yr old, still is not allowed to walk on the street alone. Just the differnce between city parents and people that live in the country. We know where our kids are. The parents are to blame, watch your children

I have to disagree with the city kids thing.. I live in the city and I always know where my kids are even my 16 yr old. It is the parents themselves that just don't care and are to worried about themselves to worry about there kids. I mean why is a 10 yr old running away from home anyway.. I really hope someone investigates this. I am sorry if my child was not home by 9:30 I would be calling the police immediatly not at midnight.

Why would you walk your cousin's half way home ...What on the other half of the trip they are older. I think the one that only walked them half way should be charged. He/She should have went all the way with them or meet the parents or other older person to take them the rest of the way.

I "half way" agree with Donna, Mom or someone else should have met them at the half way point. Sorry but you dont let 8-10 year old wander the street alone no matter where you live!
My kids are in their late teens and I still make sure they are with a friend when they go out. These are just classic cases of lackadaisical parenting.

This is a perfect example why children should be in the care of a responsible person when not at home with the mother. You dont walk children half way home then tell them to go straight to there home especially hard headed little boys. We all know the old saying......" give a kid an inch they will take the whole mile." Just saying be more careful who you leave your children with.

8 kids...okay---sensitive people, put your ear muffs on! what the hell are people punching out 8 kids for???

first, yea, some people can handle it, that's fine...but we all KNOW that some people would barely be able to handle 1/2 a child let alone more than a half dozen... i feel bad for these kids- they're likely going to face some challenges in life, mostly in the decision making process, and i say likely because the mother very well might be a good mother and something bad might have just happened...is it okay, no!

but in most cases, when you have SOME people punching out half a dozen offspring, it's not so much about populating the planet as it is refilling your account every spring---it's shameful and disgusting.

by the way, KUDOS to the fit parents that can properly parent!

and my comments are general, i don't know the details of this story, i'm saying that most people that seem to have more than 5 children, are many times unfit to even walk across a street, let alone teach children about the world,

i repeat--some can, and my hat goes off to them!

im not sensitive, honey i have six, am married and all. he has 3 and so do i. i have twins alone and like the person said 1/2 a kid is enough. i dont let my kids go there because those kids curse fight and a lot of other disturbing thing. i dont think im better then her but she does what she can. agreed about the supervison. my son is 13 and can only go the the mailbox and take the trash out without me looking. i care deeply for her family and have been through the system myself, but sometimes the system fails us.... some people are afraid to ask for help they dont want services in their business, but now because of this she has no choice, she has 3 big daughters who should have taken the kids where they needed to go but those girls 16, 18, and 21 are left with the responsibilty of watching the rest of the GANG while mommys is at work, not to mention she is a school bus MONITOR!

this is why i said my comment was a general one, but rather than pay for school supplies with government checks, they buy plasma screens, they buy escalades (granted, a lot of kids needs the room, but are the rims necessary?) and i made it a point to mention that i haven't researched this particular case- but i've seen first hand the abuse of the system and the neglect that occurs, that's what angers me!
