I'm behind on the times and have only heard rumors, but what happened to the Little Dipper? I find myself longing for some today and we don't have anything but a Dairy Queen now. I'm just crious to find out why it didn't re-open... Shit if I knew how to make that ice cream my wife and I would consider re-opening it...

It is not that difficult to make. You just need the proper commercial type equipment b

I honestly don't see how they stayed in business. The ice cream was fantastic but did they make enough money?

They had the best ice cream I've ever had. I can't believe the place was in Troy. We need another ice cream place and another non-chain food place here.

She went broke, so to get out of their lease they tried a childish tactic of blaming the nail salon for losing customers on some trumped up BS about smelly chemicals drifting into their store. They even put up a huge retarded sign in their window about it. Truth is they couldn't pay their rent cuz they suck at running an ice cream business but didn't have the balls to admit it and just close down. Anyone who wants to give an idiot like that their business then go right ahead.

Anyone who wants to give an idiot like that their business then go right ahead. I actually knew quite a few people that stopped going there for that exact reason. I know they didn't close down because of their inferior product because their ice cream was delicious!! I know that when I spoke to the owner right before they closed, she said that they were seasonal and that they would be opening up again this season in a different location. I'm not sure if this is still the case or not though.

Show me a White Castle or a Krystals in LC. These inbred hillbilly LC folk don't know that an entire world exists beyond the LC border. They have no clue what you are talking about.

You'd think a crap in a toilet was something special if it had a name on it. Get real. In my defense, I'm not from Lincoln County. I was born and raised in St. Charles County, mainly O'Fallon and Wentzville. The Little Dipper had a better product, in my opinion, than Fritzs, and that's frozen custard. I do like Ted Drews and Culvers though. But the best soft serve I've ever tasted came from The Little Dipper.

I'm not from LC either and I've lived all over the U.S. from Florida to California. The ice cream that the Little Dipper haD WAS exceptional ice cream. I wouldn't say best ever, but it was high on my list. Maybe you didn't get the right flavor if you didn't like it or thought it was plain.
Do you realize now that the Little Dipper is gone, the closest thing is Baskin Robbins in O'Fallon? And they can't compare to Little Dipper. Anyone know anywhere closer?
