Who was the brains behind this complete failure?! I imagine the courts will go pretty light on these boys, however, the assault & battery charges won't be taken so lightly. Nothing like staring at 4+ years minimum for something so stupid, best example for future punks in this county.

I'm from lakes and these kids deserve to rot in jail. Scumbags hope you have fun with a big black man in a shower!

People like you need to realize. Kids shouldn't get away hurting people . They need to be punished. I hope this ruins the kids lives. Shouldn't have done it in the first place!

I understand your point!! Just remember there only kids!! No one is perfect we all make mistakes and wrong decisions! We don't know why yet!!! Ruin a kids life is harsh and I know jesus wouldn't say that to anyone!

Two of them are 18 thats considered an adult. They should be charge as a normal adult doing this. They need to suffer like every other criminal in this world. 1 wrong and your done. It teachs everyone that breaks the law its not okay.

Once a thug always a thug. When this isn't your first crime and you've been doing this since grade school - it's now time to be punished like an adult!

I've known Kyle since he was in grade school. Went to school with my son. He's always been a trouble maker and doing stupid stuff. Now's the time to pay the piper.

No guidance from his is parents. His mom is just a bad a screw up as he is.

The daily Herald took the article down for some reason. Too bad, there were some really funny comments. One of these delinquents must have some clout with the newspaper.

If they don't have any prior records, they deserve to be able to prove that they can redeem themselves. Take their punishment (not jail) community service, probation, court ordered counseling, drug testing and a fine. Then if they break their probation then jail. I don't know the boys but they are very young and did a stupid thing. Hopefully this will teach them a lesson in life, it's only just begun.

Instead of road side cleaning i have a better idea.
How about they serve the food at a homeless shelter every weekend and holidays for a year.
Let them give up thanksgiving and x-mas so they can serve the homeless. As well as every Saturday and Sunday.

I go to the boy's school,i feel bad for the parents,but they have a lot of support,good luck guys.

Dear Justin.. Get an education!! You spell like a first grader. Your insults only make you look bad. What does the color of ones hair or ones weight have to do with anything? The death sentance? Again, let's show everyone how ignorant you are. It's not even an option in this crime. The intent on this crime is robbery, not murder. The guns were fake. Although some of the kids were 18, they are truly still kids. They were still in high school. I hope that the judge will look at this case and find a punishment that will allow the kids to be punished in a way that will not harden them, but find a way to repay their debt and become the productive young adults that they were meant to be. These were not gun toting gang members, they were high school athletes. Young, stupid children that made a decision that will change their lives and their families lives forever.
