One time a buddy of mine drove up the drive in a jeep to say hi. After shootin' the breeze for a bit he started to drive away with his dog on a leash tied to the roll bar by the back seat. I guess his dog liked me more cause next thing ya know he jumped out the back of that there Jeep and was hangin of the spare tire.....I started yellin and kickin up dust cause that fine pup was about to meet his maker and my buddy stopped and said "What tha Heck", and I pointed. Man he sure was embarassed and thankfull at the same time. Anyways, ya'll get my point? A leash sure is dangerous in the wrong hands......
This story has nothing to do with walking your dog without a leash. It just proves someone is a idiot.

Read this --there is no such thing as a "leash law" in the City Of Crockett. The only restriction is you can only have no more than 5 cats. The rest is pretty much about hogs, horses or endangered species. An ordinace with no teeth! I know of a residence with no less than 8 pit bulls chained in the front yard. Aniaml control finally came by and made the owner feed and water them on a regular basis ,but otherwise that's it. The law can't do anything or won't ! Frankly i'm sick of it all. This is not in the country ,this is in a neighbor hood in the city.

Well we do have a leash law here in Trinity and we have an animal control officer who has picked up several dogs on Parker Street.

First of all I am talking about people walking there dogs without a leash you idiot! You need to read! And if you have a dog in city limits you should have then in a fence or chained or in your home. LIKE I SAID BEFORE ITS FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS AND THE PET. Sorry about the caps, but Gordon you are something, let me tell you. I mean come on guys I could be scratching my ass instead of trying to make a point. I hardly every start something on here but to me this is something that needs to be addressed. When I do call they say the dog catcher is busy doing something else. Frankly I am tired of all the pets people leave to fend for themselves. Pets that should be on a leash but have idiots for owners. Some people do not realize the effort you have to put into a pet until its to late.

Some people are mentaly qualified to be pets, not own them...... I say let your pooch do as it wishes, but if it sniffs my boot it will get my boot, and if it bites my kid it'll get a 7mm round in the temple, and no I ain't callin' no "Trinity Dog Catcher"...lol. Anyways, aside from that I like dogs, but the only thing cats are good for is keepin' the critters off the ranch.

This all reminds me of this one feller in Goober Gap who used to have a Sihitzu, and a bulldog. Well, the 2 of them there love birds went off and made themselves a pup. Yea, the name of that breed is the same thing most of this dog chitter chatter is.......Anywhoo.

Stacey -- I AM talking about the safety of dogs and owners ,not to mention the citizens of any city who walk their dogs without a leash!!But there are NO LAWS about that in the city of Crockett.. I only hope no one moves in across the stret from you and brings 8 ---yes E-I-G-H-T pit bulls and leaves then chained up for you to enjoy ! with no fence to keep little kids from being harmed if they should venture into there to pet the "pretty puppies" ...I do see your point --please be sure to consider mine as well

I know we have no enforcment here in Houston County.
There is a state leash law and it does not matter whether you live in or out of the city. It is illegal to allow your dog (or cat) to run loose. If it is on your property it can be loose but as soon as it leaves your property it must be on a leash or under your control. Allowing a dog (or cat) to run loose means it is not under your control. If a law officer told someone it was okay to allow it to run loose then they need to educate themselves on the state leash law.
