I doubt anyone reads these comments anyway, but here's mine. Tribal Indians speak with forked tongue. As a part Indian (Commanche) I attended one of these "entertainment venues" several years ago with friends. Granted it was colorful, but inspirational it was not.

I look more like a white man than an Indian so when I was insulted and ignored when attempting to purchase some food products (the clerk kept passing me up to serve Indians who'd bucked the line) I'd had enough.

Everything this tribe does publically is a charade. Look beneath the surface and you will find a resentment for the white man and a firm desire to best him at his own game ( deception & double dealing).

Have fun.

I have been going to the POWWOW for several years with my WHITE-HUSBAND and we have never been treated with anything but RESPECT. This year we went again and had to come home because our camper got broke...we had more than enough help but we couldnt get it open(pop up). All my Regalia and my grand-daughters was in the camper along with our camping equipment. We are Jingle dancers and my husband dances with me in the Inter-Tribals

It might make a positive difference to write to the Tribe describing your concerns and your experience - being involved in making things better is more helpful than complaining. and the comments you made about what natives are learning from the "white man" sounded pretty racist - generalizing what white people are is not less racist than stereotyping natives.

I would agree with 'Wolfy' that it would be best to address your concerns is by writing to the Tribe as opposed to complaining and making public claims of reverse racism. There are alternative ways to go about stating your experience; and publicly criticizing the Honor the Earth Pow-wow and your negative experience is not the mature way of going about it. As someone being "Part Indian" there should be an underlying knowledge of the Native American culture and understand the resistance that Natives have against the non-natives but as a member of the tribe you are publicly criticizing - there are leaps and bounds that have been made to bridge the gap between native and non-native communities. Thank you very much for your comments.
