Tracy Suffers First Murder in Three Years

I'm sure that this fellow killed was an outstanding man of the comunnity. Smart people are in bed at 3:30 am instead of hidding out in a park. Animals stock their prey at night in the cover of the dark, this isn"t something new...

I live within eye-shot of Alden Park in Tracy CA where this man was murdered, and I'm using this tragedy as a call to action for the people in my community and across the USA.

I will be distributing invitations along Sequoia Blvd, Palm Circle, and Chestnut Avenue today, announcing the planning meeting for our own Neighborhood Watch. We'll "take back the park" by meeting there this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th, at 6:00PM ('til dusk), and taking the first steps to make our neighborhood safer.

Unfortunately, these days this can happen ANYWHERE.(Especially in Stockton, where some gangbangers can apparently joke about getting "a cap busted" in your ass. And, for the record, there are conflicting reports on when this man was murdered, from the 3:30am report of gunfire to sometime around 9:30am in broad daylight. So, the comment that "smart people are in bed at 3:30am instead of hidding [sic] out in a park" are also uninformed.)

Thanks to all who have said a kind word to the victim and the neighbors of this tragedy. Let this be your wake-up call. Take action. Have a block party. Start a Neighborhood Watch.

And finally, be kind to your neighbors... they know where you live.

Excuse me, that man was named Steve Klent and He was a DEAR friend of mine. He didn't deserve to get shot in the head. No one does. He never did anything wrong, he was a kind hearted fun loving Man.

Steven Klint also known as "wizard" was my closest friend the only person, besides my husband, that, without any doubt could trust completely. he was honest, kind, loving, pasionate, and, had a wonderful sense of humor, he was a true man, a man of Honer. He had morals, and, values.

He held great love for his family and friends. He is and always will be missed more than words could ever
express. The gutter trash that took our friend from use will never understand the qualities a true Man holds with-in, for he is not a man. I have no words that describe the kind of person he is. He is a nothing and will be held accountable for his actions.

The man you are all discussing was my brother. Thank you to those who have excpressed sympathy for my family.

While Steve had his problems and was not perfect (like anyone is?), he was a good man and often went out of his way to help others when they were in need. He was my only sibling. I miss him terribly, and will continue to miss him for the rest of my life.

For you callous jerks who can laugh and joke about a man who was brutally murdered, all I can say is you have some bad karma coming your way. What goes around comes around. I am shocked and appalled that anyone, no matter how much of a punk they appear to be, can "laugh out loud" over the death of another. Just to set the record straight, mcnizzle, it wasn't his a$$, it was his forehead. Go back to school and get off the streets before the same thing happens to you.

For everyone living out in the area around Alden Park, please be careful. The killers are still out there. Its highly likely they live near by.

Steve was one of the easiest people to get along with and always made me and everyone around me laugh..Also he was a very intelligent man..He was one of the few close friends i had that my 4 year old daughter absolutely adored..she still pretends to be calling him on my cell phone but she still has no idea that he is no longer with us..Steve is already missed more than anyone who didnt know him could imagine.My deepest apologies go out to his father jim and sister suzanne..i am so sorry that this happend to your son..your sister and my really good friend...alot of peoples good friend...If any memorial service is planned would u be able to notify me somehow.My email is marissa10091984@hotmail.com my prayers are with you.

my family knew steve and no ones perfect but no one derserves to die the way he did and maybe karma will come back on whoever did it and only time will tell but our best goes out to the family and his brother and sister..........

Have you stopped to think that perhaps he was not in the park of his own free will? How dare you judge another human being. That is for God alone to do.

Okay, who is to say why someone caouldn't be at a park at 3:30 in the morning? Who's to say that he drove himself there at his own free will? What i do know is that steve was a guy that would help someone out and his word was good. So, "mcnizzle", or whatever you want to call yourself, you better check your attitude toward this unsolved situation. im not sure when the services are going to be held for wizard but i will do my best to find out and when i do i will post it.

Services will be held when we have had some time to deal with this situation. I will do my best to contact everyone. Please understand that we are still very much in shock over this, and also that due to the nature of his death, would like to let some time pass before we hold services.

I remember steve in high school. He wasnt pleasant then and I doubt he changed much afterwards. He and His friend Brian used give me a hard time on campus. They were a wild pair( They even crashed in a 280z)
Looking back I had a feeling that sooner or later karma was going to get her due with these two guys. It all balances out somewhere.I would not be suprised if Brian is no longer with us either.
Sad fact is that nobody in their right mind would be in a closed park at 3:30am.The Thats simply looking for trouble. The Police speculate that it was drug deal gone bad and I am sorry on a human level that Steve is gone but the bottom line is that he chose to live his life like that.

First off try to improve your writing skills before you make any statements so you dont come off as a complete stupid idiot. Second, I never said anything bad about Steve only my experience with him and I said I was sorry he's dead. PLEASE READ THE POST BEFORE MAKING ANY COMMENTS.
I only wrote the post based on my experience with Steve and belive you me it was different than yours and far from pleasant. Once again I am sorry he's dead. Nobody should leave this world like that and I hope they catch the guy responsible but long story short, Steve pretended he was a bad ass in high school and from what I read in the Tracy press it seems he hasnt changed that much.Based on his arrest record in Alameda In 2000,if this was a drug deal that soured Steve may have met somebody that should've never been met in the first place especially at 3:30am with no back up or way out. That is flat out wrong

Jim, Suzy, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Steve was the first friend I ever had. I cannot help but feel that a part of my childhood has been taken away. I will always remember him as someone who got me into mischief, but kept me out of trouble.

Steve, although it has been years since I have seen you, I suddenly find I miss you terribly.

For anyone who has a dissenting opinion about Steve, please understand that, although our technology has changed, etiquette has not. It has never been appropriate to speak badly of someone who no longer has a voice in their own defense.
