Tracy Teen: What's a Rusty Bolt Doing In My Subway Sub?

A few years ago I found a piece of metal about 1/8" in diameter in a taco from one of the South Sac Jimboy's. All I did was politely tell them I found the metal in my taco. They took the piece from me and said "What do you want?" in a tone of voice that let me know they thought I was full of it and/or trying to get something for nothing. I said "Nothing, I just wanted to give you a heads up". I don't have a sense of entitlement, and I despise the sue-happy mentality of some people, so I didn't try to make a big issue out of it or file a stupid lawsuit. However, their attitude and the fact that they have never been particularly friendly to me or my friends caused me to simply stop eating there.

have you ever wondered what people do to your food when you go someplace to eat, i have seen shows where they have caught men and women rubbing thier private parts and on the food then serving it.

I'm a pastry chef and have worked in commercial bakeries where artisan breads are baked.... and it is odd to me that the bolt is so outside the bread...however, I wonder if the bolt came from the store, was lying on the bread pan and the just layed the dough on top. The pans they use have 'groves' large enough for the dough to proof and rise without touching and allow them to keep their shape. I don't know though.....we used to use metal wire colanders to drain fruits for tarts...well one was worn out, rusty, broke apart and chunks of rusty wire ended up in a pricey tart...pretty embarassing to say the least.

I guess my point is it couldn't have fallen into the dough, or it would have been incorporated into the bread, it had to have been put in, or the bread almost just baked on top of it. Thems my 2 cents. peace out

I thought they bake the bread in the store?

In high school I worked at a pizza place. A customer came up to the counter talking to the counter person saying he just bit into a band-aid. I looked down at my finger and my band-aid was gone!

"The sandwich was express-mailed back to General Mills headquarters in Minnesota, where Subway's bread is baked."
Say Huh? I thought Subway's claim to fame was that their bread was baked fresh in the stores daily. |

It is! It's baked fresh from week old dough :D |

I thought Subway baked their bread on-site? The last line of the story says "The sandwich was express-mailed back to General Mills headquarters in Minnesota, where Subway's bread is baked."

Did you notice the pictures came from the family? Who does that? Numerous people have posted on this forum that similar events have happened to them. Did any of you take pictures and call the news? Not me. I won't be surprised if we hear about some frivolous lawsuit.
