I am very good friends with the Pass family and i grew up the the Pass children. My dad was one of Dave Pass's best friends. We would go on family vacations with them every year. He was my doctor my entire life. My mom recently had lunch with Patti and she said that she is doing well along with the kids.

I heard about Dr. Pass from a friend. He was my children's pediatrician for many years. We started with him even before he had children and I remember noticing his bedside manner becoming much warmer after he had his own. He was a great doctor and our family is forever grateful to him for diagnosing my son's Kawasaki's Syndrome; a curable, but uncommon disease. He recognized the symptoms even though he had only seen it once in 10 years. Lastly, I will always remember how he spoke to us...."and how are WE feeling today?....Are WE getting enough sleep?....Are WE eating well?" It was his own charming style and WE will miss him!

Dr Pass was our children's pediatrition for 7 years. When we moved to Murrieta two years ago my biggest concern was finding a pediatrition who could fill his shoes. I found a good one, but he was one of a kind. He was the only doctor I have ever met that I had absolute faith in. I will keep his family in my prayers.

Dr Pass was an unhappy man. Those of us who worked for him understand this. God bless his family.

Last I heard Patti was pursuring an advanced medical career, she is already an RN. We stayed with the practice and absolutely LOVE Dr. Lin and Dr. Lo. Dr. Lin is a son of a peditrition and the practice still has old photo's of Dr. Pass with the babies. Dr's Lin and Lo are truly wonderful. Patti did an excellent job in thier recruitment and I have as much faith in them as I did with Dr. Pass. Wonderful demenior, true concern and empassioned followup. They care about their patients and the practice.

As an update, Patti was in school to become a NP and was planning on doing her internship in the office with the wonderful Dr. Lin & Lo. However, I've heard that her plans were side tracked in May/June when her youngest son was injured in a pool accident. He was paralyzed and they don't know for sure what the chances of him recovering are. He and Patti are in (I believe) Colorado at a rehab facility. I would just wish that everyone pray for Patti and her family. They've been through so much in the past year. My heart goes out to them.

That is tragic news. The Pass family does not need more challanges. For anyone who knows them please pass along our thoughts and prayers and let Patti and the family know that even after 18 months, people still care and that the time that Dave shared with us will not be forgotten. Hugs

Wait a minute...WHAT? Dr Pass was my kids' pediatrician when we lived in California. I was just "googling" him to see if he was still with Saddleback Peds when I saw this horrible news. If anyone out there knows the full story, can they email me? tpeterson@flyfrontier.com thanks...

Does anyone know how Patti's son is doing? So tragic, so young, I don't know how badly he was injured or if he will walk again?

I went to school with David Pass' youngest son, Alex. David Pass did commit suicide in their home and Alex did hit his head in a pool accident and is in a rehabilitation center in Colorado. I am unaware of his condition.
