I live in Mission Viejo, and SO FAR no, we haven't really been affected. Just a lot of ash in the air and you can't see blue sky anywhere (from my area of MV at least).
however I'm really worried about the Santa Anas picking up again and fanning the fire, so I'm at home today, just in case we need to evacuate.

Just talked to my daughter who lives in Mission Viejo. She told me that they are fine now. Just some ash and smoke.

What's going on in Coto de Caza? We have relatives there, but can't reach them.

so far, coto is okay, but they're watching that the trabuco canyon fire doesn't continue moving south at a fast rate because then it will run into residential areas in rancho santa margarita, dove canyon, then cot.

No, the fire hasn't gotten into Trabuco Canyon off of Robinson Ranch rd. yet....however, I am anticipating a knock at the door anytime now saying to leave. The smoke is so bad back here, and we are on the last street in Robinson Ranch, TC, that there is only one way out. It is close though, because the smoke is so bad today you cannot even see the mountains. As I got up this morning, I thought this is either good or bad, and then tv confirmed it was bad...the fire is in the natl forest now, which backs up to our home.

hopefully we won't have to leave...but they have to get to work on it if we are going to be able to stay.

all anyone can do is pray.

Thanks,

deb in TC

My husband just called from Seattle, and he is trying to get home today because they said if they cannot get the fire contained, then it will reach RSM by tonight....which would mean it had already reached us in TC...

So, hopefully they can get some copters in the sky, but the visibility is so poor, I doubt they can fly to drop anything here.

keep praying!!

Hi Deb, I live right next to Santa Margarita in the north east section of Mission Viejo and I face the Saddleback mountains and have seen the smoke and flames all week long and I pray it doesn't reach RSM. I really don't think it will, so try not to worry to much, but have a plan and be ready just in case.
Take care.

Deb, you will be okay, I doubt that it will hit RSM. I am in RSM as well and am confident all will be well.

My sister and nephews live off of Oso Parkway in Trabuco Canyon. I can't reach any of them!! Is that area in danger and/or on voluntary evacuation??
Thanks.

Much of my childhood was spent at O'neill Park. I have seen that area grow over the years. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who live in the canyons.

Sorina, Trabuco Canyon is under mandatory evacuation. Check the Orange County Fire Authority website for information on the Santiago Fire.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
