Last Thursday night a female Drunk driver with 2 previous DUI's slammed into my neighbors house in the Hollywood Riviera, and caused major damage. She called her parents who quickly took her away (Hit & Run) to cover it all up. When the police arrived and wanted her to come back the parents refused and lied and said that they didn't know where she was. But admitted to the police that they came and took her away. Both her and her passanger were gone by the time the police and home owners arrived, but left their damaged car, lots of blood and a HUGE mess for my neighbors to clean up. As a parent and memeber of this community I couldn't believe the lack of responsibility these parents are instilling in their daughter. Not to mention that the daugher is 25! A little too old to be bailing out like this if you ask me! We are all just lucky that no one was killed this time. So what's it going to take before her parents or the police take this type of irrisponsibilty more seriously? I couldn't believe that the Torrance PD didn't go to her house and pick her up!Or that her parents tried so hard to cover it all up! Both her and her passanger just bailed and left a HUGE mess with lot's of damage for my neighbor to take care of. Remember when Nick Adenhart was killed? That driver ALSO had previous DUI's!

Your neighbors should contact their ins. co. who will contact her ins. co.

If all this is true, you should publish her name here, maybe the DB will pick up on it and write an article, or, at the very least, her name will be out there.

I briefly talked with my neighbors and yes they have already contacted their insurance company. They along with the rest of us living here are just upset that someone who is 25, with 2 previous DUI's was out driving like this and to watch her parents that night try and cover it all up was amazing to me! As a matter of fact if it wasn't for us they probably would have left before anyone arrived since the homeowners weren't home. Just their teenage son was home alone. I'll find out her name and I'll re-post. I was shocked that this wasn't in the paper the next day it really should have been!

Some of the things that parents do, and teach their kids, is atrocious.

Scary that these kids will be running the country before too long.

I hope the homeowners don't let this go, keep pressing the PD to do something about this...they may be saving a life, hers or anothers.

Good luck, and thank you for being the kind of neighbor who cares!!!

Ok her name is Amber Mather and I guess the homeowners went to the police station yesterday to get the police report for insurance purposes and they said that it would be 2 weeks! They couldn't get any information as to wether she was ever turned into the police department or not. The Police impounded the car and they told her parents that they had to bring her to the police station asap. We all think that the parents were waiting until she was sober, that way they can't charge her with a DUI instead just with a hit and run! Come on DB where's your investigation on this?

An Amber Mather w/a Redondo Beach address, born in 84 has quite the record going...

Southbay Resident -

Thanks for reporting. This seems to be quite a story. I sent an email to Denise Nix to make sure she is aware of what has been reported in these comments. I think this would make a great follow on to this story.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it. You're especially drawn to tempting little treats and luxurious indulgences.
