Well, this is sad, but people why do you guys have to jdge so suddenly. These girls are not that bad. the sad part about this article is that they did not even mention that these girls are in the honors and advance placement program at their school. They only care to mention about the negative things they did. They are smart girls that made a stupid choice.

Sounds like you don't have control over your children. Single mother?

This is in Response to everyone.

First, I don't think its right to talk about their parents in such ways, how do you know how these girls live and are, Im sure their parents do all they can for their children, yes they made a dumb chocie and Im sure they are learning it from it but to display this, and have people talk bad about them is wrong.

You don't even know these girls, what if they are good girls who just made a stupid choice, you shouldn't judge them. How about all of your kids, if you have any, how much do you know about your children, what if their bad, does that make you a bad parent. At least these girls didn't get caught for narcotics.

EXACTLY YOU DON'T KNOW THEM EITHER!, so you have no idea. So technically speaking you can't really say nothing unless you know for a fact, and the same goes for me and everyone else on here, JUDGING THESE GIRLS AND THEIR PARENTS, you should all be ashamed, yes we all know they made a stupid choice, everyone can see that. But no one knows the facts except these girls and their parents and the police or who ever was involved.

According to the Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles, a non-profit coalition of literacy providers, 53 percent of adults in Los Angeles County can’t read at the eighth grade level – well enough to fill out a job application or read a bus schedule.

There are many factors behind this startling figure, which is among the highest in the nation.

For starters, take the high school dropout rate at the Los Angeles district, which is the largest in the nation and educates nearly 750,000 students living in 27 cities across the county. The dropout rate has been pegged anywhere from 34 percent by the district to 52 percent in an outside study conducted last year.

And for those that remain in school, their performance has hardly been stellar. While standardized test scores in the district have been rising, they still trail state and national averages; thousands of students are facing the prospect of not being able to pass the state-mandated exit exam to get their diplomas.

At the heart of all this is a huge influx of non-English-speaking immigrants over the last 25 years. While often very motivated to work, these immigrants face substantial challenges in learning enough English to survive in today’s workplace.

Cumulatively, the toll on the L.A. economy is in the billions of dollars per year in lost time, lowered productivity and higher recruiting costs among employers, according to experts.

They always say they will make the parents pay the graffiti clean up bill. The city never takes action, it's us the taxpayers that will forking out the bill to pay for the clean up. All the girls will do is giggle, and wiggle thier melons.
