The age of retirement has been changed from 65 to 35 and over. A new young work force full of vibrancy is coming....did you not notice all the ad campaigns on T.V. signaling the new children and how special they are?

Babyboomers are "the old americans". And they are out!

Easy, start work at 22 years of age, work 33 years, add up your age with the amount of time that you worked and when it reaches 85, then you are eligible to retire. Many private companies, as well as government agencies, use this formula(or some form of this formula) to calculate retirement age.Now of course you do not get a full retirement package when you retire at the earliest eligible age, but never the less, you are eligible.
That is how you can retire at 55.

I'll second that & amend it; that Feinstein should take Boxer with her, subject to the provision that
both, 98 other Senators & all 435 Representatives
be forced to enroll in any form of Obamacare that
becomes law. Let them get in line, for rationed
care with the rest of us. Never happen but thanks
for letting me rant.

Well said, Mr. Ed Hensley from Los Angeles. And include Mr. President and all his family, including his wife's mother; and Hillary and her family and all the cabinet members and their families. Let them get in line, for rationed care and long waits. And never see the same doctor twice and be sent to a different office in a different building to be told by a person having difficulty with our language that you are not on the list. Let the people who are happy with their health plan keep their health plan.
If the congress members can have their own private plan, let us have a choice too.

It used to be you could go into the military at age 17, work for 20 years and get a retirment check a age 37, if you stayed untl age 47 it was more. There are lots of government jobs that you can retire after 20 or so years. Not to many in the private sector, but someone has to actually generate money for the goverment to take to take care of their public servants.

There is talk that many of the best medical professionals are working towards medical tourism outside the US. This would allow for those who can afford quality care to actually receive quality medical care.
Obamas Health care experiment is not reform, but a government takover of the healthcare. Go to your local VA hospital and see how the government runs their system for our wounded soldiers. It is sad. Reform is not necessarily bad, but this is awful.
I heard several "offshore" health care center IPOs are in the works, you may also be able to qualify if you travel with your Congressman or Conresswoman while they get their care using a medical tourism clause they are wanting inserted into their coverage. All just rumors for now.

Agree with Hensley. And don't forget that the same pampered liberal elites like Obama, Pelosi, Feinstein who want to stuff us into govt rationed care -- also plan to cover 12-20 million illegal aliens in Obamacare.

And while they now publicly deny that Obamacare would cover illegals, the Democrats are working diligently behind the scenes to stop any screening measures to verify the citizenship of participants so illegals would, in fact, be covered.

Considering they risk their lives on a continual basis, I would say its not all that gracious. But, I like the fact that you don't have the balls to do the job, just the balls to complain about it anonymously on the internet. Way to go tough guy.
Secondly, most officers DO NOT retire after 20 years. They can't afford to and if they are lucky enough to reach 20 years without career ending injuries, they generally have to keep working well past the 20 years to do ok after retirement. You and a few others need to stop spreading this BS internet rumors about topics you don't know much about.
