For new Sioux Valley principal, it's homecoming

Full story: Brookings Register Online

It was a difficult experience due to my inability to speak the (native) language, but the students were very respectful and willing to learn. After teaching English both in-state and internationally, and with experience as a middle school principal in the West River community of White Lake, E. David Colberg is now getting ready for his first year at ... via Brookings Register Online

Wish this would have happened five years ago. Then we wouldn't have had to listen to Mrs. Hag!

I had three children that had to be under Mrs. Hag's rule. She did everything possible to make their lives miserable. She was certainly in the wrong profession. I'm glad we got a new pricipal, wish him well.

I see these kinds of comments all the time from disgruntled parents and students who don't list their names. If one were to look deeper into this issue you are likely to find parents making excuses for poor work habits, sloppy attention to learning, and overall ripping off of tax payer education dollars. These kind of people think the world is all about them, and those same students will be found in the court records when they find what the judges of the real world are not half as tolerant as the principal that called them to task.

A SV tax payer.

Why is it that every time an educator gets criticized the first defense is the person criticizing must have a poor education? Do all educators feel that they are smarter than the rest? And they will label our children as poor examples of these poor parents. We pay taxes too and have a right to make comments.

Don't you know teachers can raise your kids better than you? It may not be because they are smarter, it may be because we are dumber. Don't believe me just ask them.

I would guess that the parents who are complaining have spent little or no time with their kids doing homework, making sure they are clean, properly attired, well fed, and on time for classes. I'm also willing to bet that the TV is always on, and mom and dad are far too busy watching some intellectually stubbing network program than to wonder if the kids are understanding their school work! Yet, there is plenty of time and money for beer, cigarettes, and tattoos.
I think it's time the education system starts flunking under-performers. Refuse the dumb shits promotion and graduation. Let them spend their lives digging ditches and earning minimum wages.

This "woman" should not have anything to do with children. She needs a different line of work.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Capricorn

Confusion reigns supreme today, especially when dealing with financial matters. You could get into a muddle when sorting out your accounts or when working out how much you owe someone, even though you may not notice this at the time. It certainly isn't the day for parting with large sums of money because the chances of something going wrong are very high.
