"Save Top of the World"

Anyone know what the "Save Top of the World" signs on Highway 60 mean?

The only reason a few of the individuals are for this, is because there's nothing at the Top of The World! A route bypassing them would not affect the economy there at all. It however hurt us (the few that commute to the valley area for work). Not all of us are for this!!!

Safer and faster for the greater good of the greater masses. I vote for the freeway to bypass Top Of The World.

I drive 3,000 miles a month on US 60 between the San Tan Valley (Queen Creek south) and Eagar, AZ. The cost of putting a freeway through Top Of The World would be much more than looping around to the east end of Globe. My bi-weekly trip would be safer, faster and more economical if Queen Creek Canyon, Devils Canyon, Top Of The World and Miami through Globe were not part of that run. I do believe freeway access points for the formentioned locations should be part of the implimentation. I-40 and I-10 have provided better access without major disruption or total anialation of many small communities. Top Of The World, Devils Canyon and Queen Creek Canyon are amazingly beautifull during a rain or snow storm, some of the most facinating scenery in the world. Unfortunately for too many, it has been devestatingly dangerous if not deadly. Follow the heart surgeons, give it a bypass.

My parents have lived up there for over 15yr and we all know and agree that this by pass should be revamped. Safer, absolutely. However, there are other better alternatives then going right over "top of the world". But ADOT, doesnt want to spend the time or money to deal with the national forest.
I just know that it would be a shame to uproot all those homes for the sake of progress. Especially when there are alternatives.
