NWA Coastal Commissioner Tommy Cairo has been a busy man of late. After 2 sellout shows at the Bayville (NJ) Elks Lodge where people were turned away, Cairo knew that Coastal was on to something.
He noticed that the “fresh, unseen before” talent in the area were the wrestlers who got the biggest pops, and after some discussion with his partners, who noticed the same thing, decided to showcase this talent on a grander scale. With that “Tommy Cairo’s YOUNG LIONS” was born.
So on May 12th, Cairo will debut his latest showcase of talent, from all over the tri state area, as well as New England and the mid Atlantic. He has personally scouted all of this talent, and as an added bonus, the tournament winner will face current NWA Coastal Iron Man Champion Ricky Reyes at the next NWA Coastal show.
“As a kid, I remember going to see some smaller promotions running in both New York and New Jersey, and a lot of the guys I saw at those shows ended up on TV with the WWWF”, said Cairo.“My idea for this show grew from that, in other words, why not give the wrestling fans a chance to see some of the best young workers on the Eastern seaboard BEFORE they become stars and hit the big time”
The list of workers has names both familiar and unfamiliar to wrestling fans in the NJ area, but either way, the fans will be treated to an evening of exciting pro wrestling action! For the fans, there’s an additional bonus, as they will be able to vote on the NWA Coastal website for their favorite wrestler from the show, and the top 3 vote getters will become part of the NWA Coastal roster!!
Tournament entrants include: Sebastian Cruz (aka Bobby Howard from WWE Smackdown), Damien Alexander, Kevin Tibbs,“Hybrid” Josh Adams, Alex Payne, Spartan,“2nd to None” Alex Anthony, Bobby Youngblood,“The Reaper” Matt Conard, Magod Ali, and Johnny Nos and X-Clus IM, known collectively as the tag team THE ELEMENT, who have requested to enter the tournament as a team.
Also appearing that evening: Daisy Murder, Mike Walker, Ironman Tommy Cairo, Millionaire John II,“Bad Boy” Danny Pagan, and many other unannounced guests.
Tickets are $12, and can be purchased at the Elks Lodge, or online vie http://nwacoastal.com
