Nearly three years ago, Una was reported missing by family members after she failed to meet for a breakfast date at a Sherman,TX Whataburger. Despite massive searches and supposed long investigative hours by Sherman Police detectives, Una has never been seen or heard frome since and was in fact declared dead by a Grayson County court some time back. How does this happen? A person, beloved family member, friend and neighbor , a member of OUR community vanishes and NO one knows what happened or where she is??? While I agree with the courts that Una is dead, I will forever question those who are "working" her case to find out how such a thing could happen. How does ANYONE seemingly vanish and NO one have any idea where to or HOW??? Answers please...Were family and friends questioned? Polygraphs administered? If so, what were the results? Or, did people close to her seem to be credible and thus not worthy of in-depth questioning? There are still reward monies available for information on this case and I implore ANYONE with information to PLEASE come forward and do the right thing and bring Una home to us, her family!

How close a family member are you? You should ask the rest of the family and her friends if they were questioned or given polygraph tests.

For whatever it's worth, there was massive searches done for her over in the east side of Sherman area. Sadly, many people are never found.

I know the police and detectives on this case are doing everything humanly possible to bring Una home, and yes I do realize that as impossible as it is for me to imagine there are some people who simply vanish off the face of the earth. I guess a better way of posting would have simply been to say that Una (and many others) go missing every year, and to ask each person who reads this to pray for the detectives on this case and ask God to help them in their job and to bring justice to those who took her away from us. Also, to ask people to think back and if they saw or heard anything at all that might help to contact the detectives on the case so we might bring Una home.

OOTB:

What is your gut feeling on this sad situation, it's either a kidnapping or she wandered off? The area was searched so heavily around over there, I really think she was taken from that area over there. If indeed that turns out to be the case, I hope to hell whoever did this pays for it and pays for it dearly.

In that area she lived in, there had to be some people that saw her out for the walk that morning.

My feeling is she did NOT wonder off, she was alert, oriented and very security conscious as well. I do not believe she was taken from her neighborhood while walking as you are right someone would have seen her or seen something had this happened. Not to mention, she did not fit the profile of someone who would be a random kidnap victim and with the quick and thorough searches that began I feel like she would have been found had this been the case. I have always wondered why they did not use dogs in the searches and recall reading where a police officer said something to the effect that the case didnt fit the cases they were brought in on. I am no police officer, and again cannot say enough about the dedication they have shown in trying to solve this case, so I'm sure they had their reasons. My gut feeling tells me people who claim to have seen Una walking on the day she disappeared were wrong about the day, and were trying to be helpful but were confused and that she was taken from her home by someone she knew. I think she was taken the day or night before she was reported missing, and the person(s) responsible had time to come back and stage the scene to look as if she had been going about her normal daily routine when she vanished. I feel strongly it was someone she knew well for several reasons, as she would never have opened her door to someone she didnt know and the person if I'm right knew her habits and routine well enough to make it appear she was doing her usual things. This would explain why the immediate searches did not locate anything. Again, detectives I'm sure have covered all this and I guess found nothing to support this theory,so moot point I guess. We may never know what happened, and this is hard to accept.

It boils down to how much the family members keep after the District Attorney's office to stay on the case and how much they keep it in the media. Of course the DA has other cases but this one is still not solved and is a worrisome situation for Sherman. Has anyone contacted FOX News or Nancy Grace>

With family members the only ones to benefit from her death, why would they want to do this? After all, they were the ones who rushed to have her declared legally dead.

Nancy Grace is still caught up in the story about the girl that got killed in Florida. Been talking about it for several months now. Everynight I flip through the channels and she has the same stuff on the screen as breaking news, and it's stuff she talked about a week or two before.

Only the family would have had time to "set" the stage, and get rid of all the evidence before the all out searches. Also, why were dogs not used in this case?

A family member just called me at work to tell me to pull up a Grayson County news station's website as there were supposedly new developments in Una's case. While I am glad they did a story on her and interviewed her granddaughter, etc. and I hope they really do have some new leads in the case. I want Una to be found, and while I do not see alot of evidence to indicate she is alive I know there are miracles everyday and thus hope remains. I still question why dogs were not used in the beginning and why the first news reports after her disappearance quote an information officer with the Sherman P.D. as saying something to the effect of their use not being indicated or there use didnt fit the case. Also, it sounds shady to me that family members who are the only ones who would benefit from her death are the ones who successfully had her declared before a period of several years went by and with no proof she was dead. Would love to know if indeed her estate was protected from the family who are the most obvious suspects of all in any such case. I hope Una is alive, but feel her family knows more than they are letting on either way. Anyone else have an opinion or any other information?

It has been three years ago that Una disappeared and despite claims to the contrary, law enforcement seem to be no closer to finding her than they were when she disappeared. Someone out there knows something, someone has the tip that is needed to solve her disappearance. Please if you have a possible clue, call the Sherman Police Department or Crime Stoppers and let them know. Una deserves to be laid to rest and her abductors caught. She would never have voluntarily disappeared or stayed gone this long if she were alive and able to come home. As to the person(s) responsible, some of us will not rest until this is resolved. Whether family , stranger or friend you WILL be brought to justice.

Has anything else been in the news about the alleged new evidence that the local television stations had stories on back in May?

I hope that someone comes forward! SOMEBODY knows what happened to this nice lady! Unfortunatly, some cases run cold - meaning they run out of leads to follow. I have no doubt that SPD did all they could with what info was available. If you know something and are reading this, DO THE RIGHT THING and report what you know.

I wonder if her family (who are only ones to benefit from her death) took polygraph tests? I know these are inadmissible in court but still would be interesting to see if they took them and if so what the results were and if not, why they did not. Also, wonder if they considered letting another detective look at the case, reinterview witnesses, etc. Sometimes a "fresh" pair of eyes might see something others missed.
