Vigil held at Lucas County dog pound

I would love to see our current dog warden put out. Just like he does to dogs, put him on the street with out a home. I have four dogs that are licensed and well cared for, if they got out and were put down like he does to many dogs, I wouldn't know where to begin. My dogs are family and if anyone killed my family member, then I would believe in an eye for an eye. I understand if a dog is a biter and attacks other dogs or people, but does that include the little yorkie, toy poodle, etc. All you ever hear about is pit bulls being put down. What happens to the people who made the animal mean? Was it the first time this happened with the animal, or a repeated behavior? I actually had a neighbor sue me because she claimed my dog, who had no teeth, bit her and gave her cat scratch fever.(she was holding her cat which scratched her and my husband) My boxer was labled as a biter. I'm surprised he wasn't put down. We got lucky when the deputy warden came out to check out the situation, she noted that the dog had no teeth and was not agressive. I fear that if MR. Skelton had investigated, Rocky would have been put down. I would love to see this man removed from office, pits can be gentle and rehabilitated many times, broken bodies can often be repaired and healed. Many dogs can find new families and do not need to be put down. Give our dogs a chance. I believe in keeping our families safe, our pets safe, but not in killing the lost pet that is found by the DOG WARDEN. Even a criminal is given a chance to reform in prison.

Oh give me a break. There are thousands of homeless dogs and cats. Who's going to pay to have them taken in and cared for? The people who are so gung-ho against having these animals put down should put out the money to build them a huge hotel or something if they're so concerned.

Frankly it sickens me that children are starving on the streets and people are worried about rabid dogs. No wonder the world we live in is so screwed up. Kids are freezing and starving while people gather crowds for candlelight vigils for animals.
