Cannot comment on the Dispatch anymore without a subscription. But they have been following this same issue in CCS. And it is starting to look pretty big.

Raises questions about what attendance really is and what CCS has been doing to influence the real numbers one way or another. Some things that schools do to make the problem worse include overreliance on suspension as a tool for discipline and underemphasis on learning and engagement.

I have been in CCS schools with way too many kids wandering the halls and too few adults concerned.

Am I reading this right? Reader actually admitting, even indirectly, that large metro public schools are loaded with ineptitude, too much bureaucracy, and gasp--no intent to educate?

Apparently Loveland just got caught as well.

Don't know much about Loveland, but I don't think they qualify as a large metropolitan or urban district.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Capricorn

You're keen to look on the bright side of things and to ignore anything unpleasant or worrying. That's fine, provided that you're ready to face up to life's difficulties again tomorrow. But it's not such good news if you persist in looking the other way whenever a problem presents itself, especially if it's connected with your work or health. It may be time to face a few facts, Capricorn.
