Beware of Milligan and Sons Garage in Martin/Lavonia Georgia - I had a horrible experience with them. My water pump failed on I-85 and a local AutoZone referred me to Milligan. I feel like Paul Milligan was very unprofessional and took advantage of the fact that I was temporarily stranded. He charged an excessive towing ($95) and diagnostic fee ($85) to tell me what I already knew - that I had a bad water pump. Paul Milligan leveraged his position of power against my vulnerable state to essentially force me to transfer my car title to him in return for a ride back to civilization since his shop is miles from anywhere. When I returned several days later and declined to transfer the title, he charged me an outrageous storage fee of $160 for 6 days of storage and held my car hostage until I paid cash. Paul Milligan claims to be a man of his word, and maybe he is, as long as he stands to make money off of you. If you value your money, stay away from Milligan and Sons Garage

The towing charge is actually what the state has said is reasonable. The rest of the story does sound very hard-nosed of him. I'm terribly sorry that you had this experience in our area. My experiences here with mechanics in the area have been very different from yours. I haven't used Milligans, but have been in dire straits several times and have been treated very well by several local businesses.

MR SEEK HAS A SHORT MEMORY. THIS CUSTOMER CALLED ME ON FATYERS DAY. ASK IF WE WOULD FIX HIS CAR THAT DAY.WE PICKED UP HIM AND HIS CAR & TOWED IT IN. CHECKED THE CAR AND FOUND THAT THE REPAIR COST MORE THAN THE VALUE OF CAR. HE WANTED ME TO BUY HIS CAR FOR PARTS.WAS TOLD I HAD NO USE FOR A 1991 SUBARU HIGH MILE LOTS OF RUST. HAD AN EMPLOYEE DRIVE HIM TO ATHENS GA. SO THAT HE COULD GET A ROOM & RENTAL CAR. ON FATHERS DAY.6 DAYS LATER HE SHOWS UP AT SHOP & TELLS ME WHAT HE OWES FOR OUR TIME & EXPENSE. LAST TIME I PAYED MY EMPLOYEES MY NAME WAS ON THE CHECK. JUST GOES TO SAY THAT IF YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO HELP.SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO CLASS. JUST READ HIS REVIEW.

I asked for a price to install a set of fog lamds needing no wiring since the control was remote and the installation of a Bull Bar. He wanted $150 labor. Had the job done in Royston for $50. Beware

I am the owner of milligan and sons garage, the person that indicated that i gave him a quote on installing his fog lights and bull bar has to be mistaken. never recived phone call and would not give quote over phone with out seeing car and parts first. there is an old saying, "when you eat at waffle house, Do you take your eggs with you". i have no prolblem installing customers parts as long as customer takes responsabillity for said parts. it amazes me that someone i have never met or spoke with can get on the internet and say this kind of stuff.

I owe Mr. Milligan a review and I apologize for taking so long to get around to it. About 6 months ago, my wife and I were stranded on I-85 with a broken transmission. We were on our way to North Carolina to start a new job. The person who came to our rescue was Mr. Milligan. He towed our van, took us to the local hotel, looked over our van, and told us our options to get it fixed. We have an older van – 2000 Windstar – and we needed an entire new transmission. It would normally take 2 – 3 days to get a new transmission, remove, and replace our transmission. But when we explained the tight schedule we were under because of the new job; he and his crew worked very hard and finished our repairs in 1 day. It is not easy to install a new transmission in cars these days and it took them a VERY LONG day to get it done. Well, as I said, that was about 6 months ago. There have been ZERO problems with the engine or transmission. The van runs great and it would appear that I will be driving the van for many years to come. I very strongly recommend Mr. Milligan.
