How great to read about this history. My great grandfather lived in Lawrence County where per Census Reports of 1920 and 1930 he worked as a "tool dresser/oil well driller" and then as a teamster in an oil field."

This is a story about perseverance, too... Poor Drake was totally abandoned by his sponsoring companies, but continued on his own anyways and see what happened :)
