I noticed that some of the comment were from may 09...is it still as bad of a community 1/26/11? The community is great and the pool is not packed since there is a security guard that verifies all home owners and guest when the enter..

Jodi wrote: It may look pristine, but the grass really isn't greener there. This neighborhood has become horrible. Kids run wild in the streets and will not move when you are trying to drive home, vandalize your home, steal, fights at the pool, kids trespassing unsupervised. There are gangs forming. Absolutely horrible. Ironically enough, your comment about the green grass, may not be as metaphorical as you think. A well maintained neighborhood has HUGE affects on the overall quality of the community. I looked into purchasing a home in Plantation Oaks, but was unimpressed with the maintenance. Four Seasons Environmental (sales@ProScapeLand.com) provides services in our neighborhood, and does a wonderful job (high quality, professional, uniformed, etc). They are the only "lawn service" I have ever given the thumbs up for.

It's amazing how simply keeping the community cleaned up (nice lawns and landscapes, clean homes, etc) provides a huge step towards homeowners taking pride in their community. Four Seasons Environmental (sales@ProScapeLand.com) provides services in our neighborhood, and does a wonderful job (high quality, professional, uniformed, etc). They are the only "lawn service" I have ever given the thumbs up for. I'm not sure if they're looking for new clients, it's definitely worth shooting them an email.

They are a little picky on who they accept as clients (because of their upscale quality), but I'm sure a community such as Plantations Oaks would qualify.

We purchased our vacation/retirement home in Plantation Oaks. We did much research before we bought there & used our precios nest egg. We love the community! Our neighbors keep their yards tidy & don't bother us at all. They keep an eye out for the property without being asked just being neighborly. We have never seen gangs or unruly teens. We stroll the neighborhood after dark to enjoy the evening & have never felt unsafe. I will say there are more homes being rented & you can tell that a renter is living there rather than an owner. They just don't keep the plantings as neat as the average owner. We have never had a problem at the pool. Just other nice families. There are loud teens sometimes but they are just being kids not hoodlums. PO has many caring & protective families living there you can tell by their comments & concerns voiced at the HOA meetings. We are very happy with our home & community & would recommend it to anybody.

I agree, my husband is an officer and we ave rented here for over a year. We have NEVER had any problems, nor do we let our "unruly" children run the streets. We are buying in here within the next couple of months. I have never felt unsafe here. I do see kids out walking around a lot, but why should that bother me? They are kids. That is what kids do, and quite frankly even though at 6 and 7, I wont let my kids run off on their own, I like knowing that when they are a little older they can without me being worried. Although, on the down side, there is one house of renters on my street that have a group of young children that really should be better supervised for their own safety (riding out in the road, being too far away from home with an adult, being out late)....

I have lived here over 2 years with no problems at all! Although I must say in the last 6 months they have had alot of renters move in and the community is going down hill. A large family just moved in around the corner from me and this morning I woke up to 2 under cover cops and 3 Titusville PD...Not sure of whole story but talked to a few neighbors and problem seems to lie with that family. I think the HOA needs to step and do something, they towed our vehicle for parking in road but drive around the corner and this new family has trash, broken windows THE HOUSE LOOKS like the HOOD not the community. I am a renter and I take very good care of my home.

This is an update from my 9/2011 post. We have moved to Plantation Oaks permanantly. Our neighbors have been very welcoming & friendly. We've had them offer to move furniture & loan tools. Our 14 yr old daughter has made friends & we feel very safe about her being in this community. We often take evening strolls to the mailbox & always feel comfortable & safe. The newly elected board of directors seems to be touch with the homeowners & cares about what happens here. We love our home in PO & recommend the community. Titusville is a wonderful small city. We love it here.

Now there is a board in place that truly cares about the community. This community has potential to be a wonderful place to raise a family and/or retire. Best of luck to the new board and the new property management company. It is going to take everyone pulling together to achieve the common goal that most people want in a community, unity. It's time to start being a community of doers; doing our part to make the community the great place that it was designed to be.

We are working with a realtor and have seen many homes in this subdivision that we are interested in. We are retired but now concerned with some of the comments. Any updates on how the HOA is taking care of yards. Also, what is the difference in PHASE 1, 2, 3, communities? Thanks...don't want to waste our hard earned money!

PHase 1 was built first, then Phase 2, etc. I also have been looking for a home in that area. I saw a couple on line I wanted to see. Any locals that can offer advice, we will take it!

I notice almost all of the negative comments are from people who do not even live in Plantation Oaks. My daughter bought a home there a year ago and loves it there. She has never had a problem there, I visit often and have yet to see these roving gangs and unruly kids these people have wrote about. There are a few homes that could use the yards re sodded but most of the neighborhood is well kept. You can only get into the poo with a pass and have never seen any fights at the pool area. So I would not pay any attention to any post that was posted by anyone that does not live in Titusville. Sure we are having a tough time economically right now with all the lay offs at the space center, however, we are a proud community and we will pull though these hard times a better city than we were.

I currently live in Plantation Oaks and Deleon is "behind" my house through the woods. We have never had any bad incidents happen in the few years we have lived here. The pool in the summer time is great, never too crowded. The only issues I have is that most of the time the front gate is broke, and you have to lock your car doors because kids will see if they are unlocked and take your stuff (this is anywhere even when I lived in Viera). Overall you can get a killer price on a house and the neighbors are great.
