Ethics and space program issues as Dems try to unseat Feeney

In my professional opinion, you'd be CRAZY to vote RePERVlican, this fall.
. From the rest rooms to the golf courses, RePERVlicans seem to have their own agenda in mind. . The Values Party scam is over. . The Contract On America is through. . The ruse that Gingrich and DeLay threw out to fool the public has taken a long time to come to light, but NOBODY IN HIS RIGHT MIND can deny the corruption and ineptitude of the old RePERVlican leadership, now. Even McCain has sold out his principles to the extreme right-wing, in a last-ditch attempt to be called "president" before they bury him. . For your kids sakes, get rid of the last vestiges of corruption and personal greed in November. . Time for a change, Florida. |

Honestly people, how are we going to change this country if we keep electing the same self serving thieves like Feeney.

Feeney is one of the most fiscally responsible congressman in the U.S. His record speaks for itself especially when it comes to spending YOUR money and my money. It is a bad idea to put a TAX and SPEND liberal into this seat. If digging up five year old news to run against Feeney with is all the Dem-wits can come up with then it's because they can't possibly run against him on the issues.

Voted one of the most corrupt members of Congress:

I disagree, Feeney has rubber stamped Bushs record debt and enlargement of the Federal government. As a true fiscal conservative I do agree with you about the Democrats. But at this point wonder if they could possibly do any worse than this bunch.

Two corrupt politicians does not get good representation. When this women was in the state she was controlled by the lobby. What we need is change not more coruption

Even it was five years ago, do mean Feeney was fiscally conservative (for himself) when he had Jack Abramoff paying for his golf trip to Scotland? Or was it when he and his Republican majority decided to BORROW and SPEND from a communist country to support their wasteful expenditures while creating record-breaking deficits? Maybe, it was when Feeney decided to spend OUR tax dollars on his self-promoting mailers. It is confounding how anyone can continue to support Feeney's type of corruption, and this is coming from a former Republican. |

I like the way the news media plays the political preference card. They do it by finding bills that have a popular title, like "Health Care for Children" and picking out the legislators who voted against it so they can use that for their advertising. The don't tell you that the reason this person voted against it was that it was loaded down with pork or had something in it that was going to make it a time bomb. No, they just use the words "voted against it" to give the person a black eye.
Legislators who drop pork into a bill are not stupid. They know which ones to tack it on and which ones to not. You wouldn't put your pork project in a bill that was probably going to be defeated. And, when you end up voting for it no one can say you were voting for the pork in it. You say "hey, I think those dear little kids need health care" and no one says anything about it. But President Bush wanted line item veto so he could skim out the pork projects, cut the cost of the bill, and get things through a lot quicker. But the Democrats said "No Sir". You take it all or it doesn't go. So now if the President or Representative Feeney or anyone votes against it - the news media has fodder for their articles to show the Democrats are the "People's Choice". And then along comes people with not enough intelligence to remember which channel American Idol comes on every week and they want to call for Rep. Feeney's job because "we need a change". Sicking isn't it? |

Unfortunately, Feeney is bullet proof from a Democrat assault but a young moderate Republican would whip him easily.

I;ve seen Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans and Democrats. You know what? I prefer all of them to the Democrats. You know they are the enemy, they aren't pretenidng to be Americans.

If Feeney were doing his job, Titusville wouldn't be in danger of losing thousands of jobs. Instead, he has concentrated on partisan politics and enriching himself politically if not monetarily. This guy has at least stretched the limits when it comes to ethics and I believe he has crossed the line numerous times. Worst of all, he has often been allowed to decide where that line is. He has shown that he cannot be trusted with that level of authority. His arrogance and that of his like minded cohorts is largley responsible for the position we are in economically, militarily and diplomatically. I am in his district but he does not represent me. I'm neither wealthy, nor intolerant enough to benefit from his attention. I'll be glad to see him go.

Can you help some of us by filling in some details? I see where he took the golf trip and his explaination was that they checked the source for funding on this and it was okay. Later they found it wasn't and he offered (and I think he did) to pay for the trip out of his own funds. I agree, this isn't as blatant as Democrat William Jefferson from Lousiana being filmed taking $100,000 in bribe money and hiding $90,000 in his freezer AND THEN BEING SUPPORTED BY PELOSI AND OTHER TOP DEMOCRATS BY THEM NOT ASKING HIM TO RESIGN. So what else do you have on Feeney besides this trip because that isn't panning out very well. And as far as him not doing his job because the Space Program is being cut back tells all of us that you don't have a clue as to how NASA works and how our government is run. |

Mr. Feeney didn't pay for the Scotland trip until he was forced to do so because he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. As for his claim that he did not know that the trip was improper, I don't believe him. However, it does not matter whether or not I believe him. As any law abiding citizen knows, ignorance of the law is no excuse. It seems to me that there was an incident a few years back concerning a lobbying letter that was sent from his office on his official "House Speaker" stationary. Illegal? Given the lack of ethics in Florida government, probably not. But, just because something isn't illegal doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Mr. Feeney does not have the ability to recognize right from wrong. The appearance of impropriety is in itself improper. In Mr. Feeney's case I think his arrogance suggests a sense of entitlement regardless of perception. I think he is as he appears. Again, I'll be glad to see him go.

I'm glad he voted against $50 Billion to fight AIDS in Turd World Countries. Let them pay for their own AIDS problems.
