I moved to L.C. Back in 2000. Ive never been there nor had I heard of it. However when I got their I learned that certain last names will put a bad taste in your mouth. I guess my question is. Why does everyone of the same last name seem to suffer for what a few of that name do? I don't mean an specific name either I seen it a lot

People in Lake County and in other small communities have long memories and old slights stay for a long time.

Where unless you worked at a store (lets say Walmart)the chance that your gonna see someone in the store that you know is 1out of 100. You could actually know two different people. Never know they were related, and they might never know they have the same friend either.

In a small community like this I don't think anything is ever really forgotten. It's not quite the Hatfields and McCoys, but it comes close sometimes! Just be careful what you say. You could insult someone's grandma or first cousin and never even know it.

Dont take offense any body. If you knew his father you would understand, but I graduated my last year of hIgh school there. People were so curious about the outsider so to speak that they made speculations about me that weren't true. Which caused me to think that the whole last name brandings were based off of pure rumor.

You would have had to do a lot of research, and I mean a lot,to be sure you arent related to those 2 hundred people.Im sure you have relatives you would be surprised to find out about.

That's just it. I have done the research. Genealogy is one of my hobbies. My family tree goes back to the 1700s in Germany. You still keep making those blanket statements. So far I haven't found any of those surprises you speak of and definitely not in Lake County.

I agree with "citizen" that not all people in Lake County are related. There are only three or four families in LC that I am related to and that's mostly by marriage. You'll only find 2 listings in the phone book or on the web with my last name. I've also done the research. My family is originally from the middle east and eastern Europe and most of the few who still exist don't live around here. How my family ended up in this area is beyond me!

One thing is for sure no matter who the sheriff is everyone is related to him. Also you people who grew up in this dump you will find out that if you leave there is some pretty neat stuff out in the world. examples: TV,electricity,in door plumbing, you don't have to fight with your dad so you can sleep with your sister,or farm animals. One more thing food stamps and welfare are not incomes. All of you worthless bums need to get jobs or go drown yourselves in the river. ALL OF YOU WORTHLESS SKUMBAGS CAN KISS MY @SS.

ALL OF YOU WORTHLESS SKUMBAGS CAN KISS MY @SS. You'd be mighty surprised at how many of us have been "out in the world", in fact all over the world. We're not scumbags, and most of us can actually spell. Why would anyone want to kiss anything of yours? That's a question for the ages. If you don't like it here, then don't come visit. We won't miss you at all, in fact we hardly even know you're alive. Contrary to what you believe, we don't have to have your permission to exist. You need to get some help because you are way too obsessed with what goes on in our lives. Have a nice day now.
