That is why I do not live in former swampland. What do you expect to happen? Nature will always win.

Hey with the economic slow down in housing......rebuilds
will be faster....or relocate will be cheaper w/ many
choices. I for one am sick of donating to charity
to help those who refuse to plan for the KNOWN flooding.
Forget my donation.

Herbie, you need to learn a little something about IP addresses. I guess technology is not too important to a river rat. I hope you tied an anchor on your trailer so it does not float away.

Oh please. The RedCross solicited me for contributions
as they did many others.....specifically for those
affected by recent flooding. I call that asking.

The government should not be interfering with mother nature.

You want to live in a flood zone? Fine, don't come crying for money when your crap gets washed downstream.

For the record your local RedCross Chapter was not able
to meet their usual goals....and made many personal
calls to wring out more $$$$. Need is exactly what
their wording was.

Dear Noah,

The arch has already been completed. It's in St. Louis, Missouri.

Building a house on the bank of a river is a sure fire way to lose a house. Save time, next time just build your house IN the river. You can pray all you want that your house won't get flooded, but I guarantee you this; the river will not heed you.

We would all be better off if the gov'ment would force all people in flood plains to get out....permanently. The gov. could give every home owner a fair $ amount for their homes and bulldoze the buildings. The ultimate cost to tax payers over the years would be less....and prevent the loss of life and personal belongings every time it rains too much.
