Stormin Norman took our entire group that went for dinner by total surprise! It was truly magical for 2 1/2 hours that we just couldn't leave. His encore of classical ala Liberace was the best. Our family is heavy classical and even loved his vocals, but the piano encore ending was absolutely the best. I don't know who's idea it was to bring him to Mister C's, but he is the best musician to ever grace that restaurant. Our food was fabulous, but the entertainent just stole the show. I'd just like to know if there is anything that Norman can't sing or play. We'll be there again very soon. I hope he's still there.

My hat's off to Stormin Norman and his special guests. You have to be kidding when you talk about talent. This guy has forgotten more about music than any bunch has ever learned. He bends his voice into any style and does it with ease. His piano playing is effortless with feeling and it's like he's on a large concert stage but sucks you right into his act. I must say it was quite a visit to Mister C's and I would have never know it was there except for the comments the girls made in the office about how good he was and where the restaurant was located at. Great job..keep on rockin.

Lori, thanks for the nice words about my husband! I am very glad you took the time to post your thoughts. It is very nice reading all the comments on here about him! And yes, as someone mentioned on another post, I am a Mississippi girl. Just so you know, he will be at Mr. C's thru Labor Day. Try and come again and let me know you are there! You should check out www.normanseldin.com for other info on him, and check him out on his facebook page or myspace! Also he will be at Doolan's new piano lounge in Spring Lake starting this Friday, Aug. 7 beginning at 7:15pm. Should be fun! |

I heard Norman at Shore Club Grille that is known as Doolans in Spring Lake just s few months ago. He was truly amazing and the other friends of mine couldn't believe his voice. Norman just dazzled the audience in this very special room. We were surprised at no cover, and very reasonable prices for the delicious food they were serving. Stormin Norman was a real treat for us and two of my friends went back the following. What a rare treat, along with the story about his background. He truly is a shore and legend and lives up to the publicity.

I was just looking around google and our local/regional musicians and saw Norman Seldin. We all know him as Stormin Norman and went to Mr. Cs this summer when the news came out that he was stepping on stage for the first time in many years. We had great food, but the music Norman performed was even better than that. I don't know how his voice stays like it does with an incredible range and still does his piano thing like no one we've ever heard. Our friends were fortunate to hear him at Doolans on Rt.#71, but when we went back he was done for the season. I just wanted to say that Stormin Norman is a supreme musical artist and we can't wait to see if he performs again in this area. He hasn't lost a step, and maybe is better than he was years ago. If you're reading this Norman, please make sure you play this year....we'll be there.

I had the great pleasure to catch Stormin at C's in Allenhurst and then again at Doolan's down Spring Lake way. He was outstanding in all phases of his performance with some humor and wild vocal ranges. My favorite was at the end where he tore off on the piano and it's still the same crazy player I remember from years ago but better. There is no one around here to his equal when he gets loose on the piano. I've been looking to see when he'll perform again. If you haven't ever heard Stormin, then there is something that you've really missed. Still tremendous...

How amazing to find this when I was just googleing. Norman is a very unique performer and can tell you that we went years ago to the Academy Of Music in Philadelpia to hear him with the Joyful Noize and they blew the place apart. It was only the opening band in front on a whole host of golden oldies acts. We later saw him at Jenks in Point Pleasant and it was crazy. He turned the entire act around to Buffet and blues with a big crowd. I did go to MrC's this past summer after reading that Norman was coming out to play again. We think his sister was there that night and it was a night to remember. His whole family must just have that magical touch and the work on piano was brilliant. Just wanted to say he's gained a few steps and not gone backwards like most of the shore musicians. We'll look for his return hopefully this year.

You never know what you find when you surf on the Google site. One thing I can tell you is that by accident my parents took me to the shore and we ended up in what I thought was an old folks home when they said we're going to Doolans. I am twenty three and for some reason we went into this intimate small room with this guy Stormin Norman and it shocked me to hear this kind of talent in any restaurant never mind one that my parents went to. This guy Norman just took away my entire life for over one hour plus. My parents were even shocked and said there was never anyone like this guy performing there. I don't know a lot about piano, but to me he was outstanding and forget his vocals. They were to die for. There was something called Lookin For The Angel and another Brooklyn song and that took me to another level. I have already told my friends about this Stormin Norman guy and we will look for him this coming year. It was very special and the first place I've gone with my parents musically that was truly great. You have to hear this guy....really one of a kind and very special.
