Don't know the history of Timeron but I think it was originally developed in the 1960's. The developer installed the water lines, probably improperly, and the lot owners were given the system. Water line installation in rocky areas should have been properly embedded in a rockless material and compacted. I doubt that there were any inspections done at the time. Don't even know if there were any subdivision ordiances to insure that the lines were properly installed at the time.
Feel sorry for the people. |

Why should water be kept a PUBLIC resource?
Who Should Own Our Water? With two-thirds of the world’s population expected to run short of fresh drinking water by 2025, water has come to be known as “the oil of the 21st century.” Around the world, multinational corporations are parlaying the misery of our water-starved regions into profits for their stockholders and executives. In the United States, 86 percent of people get their household water services from a public utility. But some members of Congress and local politicians want to see private companies take over more water systems. And public utilities are struggling financially to meet federal clean water standards and to maintain and modernize water systems. So when cash-strapped communities are unable to make necessary water upgrades, private companies persuade them to sell off their public water systems. Communities that have experimented with privatization have not found that it solves their water woes. In fact, many private companies are providing worse service at a higher cost than most public utilities. Here’s why water privatization fails: Rates Increase Water Quality Suffers Customer Service Declines Profits Leave Communities Corruption Breeds, Accountability Diminishes Privatization lacks the transparency on which our democracy depends. Financing Costs More Jobs are Lost The Poor Lose Access |

1 I believe the people of Timberon need to seriously wake up and understand the nature of this beast before it's too late, although it may already be. Contact your Senators and Congressmen. Contact the Governors office and DEMAND investigations. Hound the newspapers for more coverage. There are snakes in Timberon, and they are the TWSD. And they intend to destroy your families' peace while at the same time trampling your rights. And when the S--T finally hits the fan. When homes are destroyed by the incompetence and power plays brought to you by the TWSD snakes, that's when "just" and pertinent lawsuits brought against the "individuals" who caused all this mess will begin. |

As for leaving a message & TWSD will get back to you, that phone line is checked periodically by a water contractor. Phsyce Daddy is right. Those water lines were never put in right in the first place. The cheapest pipe possible was used & itwas laid on top of rocks. Things were mishandled for years & it happened to fall in the new board members lap. Frivolous lawsuits are draining the community faster than the substandard water lines. Timberon residents need to face the fact water rates need to be raised to improve the water system or Timberon will dry up & become a ghost town. Believe me I know being anoyher Timberhoidn & having ties to TWSD
