I needed a laugh with all the money/housing problems going on. What a joke!!! Who will pay for this? Who's idea was it, Punts? Give me a break, what has he really done except to suck from the tax payers all these years.

Why is it that some want to erect statues of Politician or name building or bridges after them?
These people wanted that job and got paid to do it. That is it. Again, it was his job to do what he did. He got paid very well to do it. We need to stop feeding their ego and let it go.

Mr. Gilland has a every right to use his business expertise to honor a friend. Get over it.

The only experience I've had with his company is when GMW designed & constructed my pet's headstone. Gilland makes beautiful pieces for the Antietam Humane Society's cemetery. When I phoned them with a question, they knew what was going on. That's refreshing.

What in the world does the current economy and "housing crisis" have to do with the article that we read?

Repeat, that we thoroughly read, as usual (right?).

Please..........a statue of PUNT!! Think about his real reputation??? Don't we have better things to do with our money, especially in these tough economic times??? Nothing ceases to amaze me!

A statue for a local politician, for doing the job that he was elected to do, is a stretch. If people feel that strongly about Mr Punt, what about a scholarship in his name? That would have the potential to benefit more people.

It sounds like everybody involved is on a different page of this book. One person says the idea is "buzzing about" and another states that thay are "definitely" doing the pedestal. I think that I am going to withhold my opinions until these guys get it together. Besides, statues are creepy.

Maybe a short statue with its hand extended palm up and currency sticking out of its pockets.

Little Big Man rides high again on his 'ego-nomic' saddle. How soon we forget the pay raise. At least if I go to Waynesboro now my dog will have something to piddle on when we walk through downtown.

Revisionist history. Ignoring the Runt's greedy behavior? Public land should not be used for this proposed monument to a corrupt, self-centered individual. Why not a heroic statue like those of Saddam Hussein or one in the Soviet style with the inscription: "Me first!"

Hey, how about we start planning a statue for Rich Alloway, too, as he starts on his self-enrichment program in Harrisburg. There's no time like the present.

And how about Jeff Coy, he stole plenty in 22 years in the House and is still slopping at the trough of the gambling commission.

Really?? No kidding?!?

I much prefer a very realistic one -- a statue which will be 4 ft. tall but will have as its most prominent feature, a giant inflatable Ego.

I agree. But the responsibility of the writer of this article is to arrange the facts in a manner that won't make that so glaring. It interferes with the report.

This writer has a lot of disorganized thought--almost as if he's anxious. Where's his support?

I have to agree with this point. Once the genie gets out of the bottle, are we going to end up with 25 concrete busts in center square, Wallyboro? Will they be decorated at Christmastime?

Roscoe's reporting omitted how Punt helped himself during those years in office. How much WAM did Punt spend over his years in office? Who were the big recipients of Punt's WAM?

Daily Horoscope for November 26

Sagittarius

The mood is considerably lighter as the Moon enters Aries and your fifth house of romance and creativity today; plan to enjoy a good time tonight. Make a play date with your inner child and forget about all your responsibilities for a few hours; you've been working hard and deserve time off for good behaviour. Just remember, no drinking and driving... hire a cab if you plan to go out for the evening.
