Full story: The Daily News

Most deer are the right color One lucky Northwoods hunter shot the deer of a lifetime this year, but it wasn't a massive set of antlers that made the deer special, rather its white hair. via The Daily News

why didn't this jerk just take a picture and let this beautiful creature live its life? it is just like a loser hunter to take its life for a trophy than to admire it and let it live. don't you realize how rare it is to come across a piebald deer? get a clue!

let me ask another question? did you eat it, or let it rot?

What a loser that hunter is. Anyone with half a brain would have admired such an unusual creature and never have taken its life.

Such a brave hunter should join the army and go over to Iraq and face something who can fight back. That type never would pit himself against real danger, just defenseless animals.

Tree hugger s like you are why animals get over populated and get diseased and die terrible deaths. animals activists should move to south America and try to save the rain forest. Quit waisting your breath cause you have nothing to prove. that animal is a trophy and now will be admired for what he was forever now.

What right does a hunter have to kill something so beautiful and rare? Aren't there enough brown deer to suit them? Would you kill a unicorn if you saw one?

piebald & white deer should be protected by law. People that kill these rare animals are on the same list as the Chinese that enjoy eating endangered species.

Those of you that are critisizing the hunter...have you ever eaten venisen? It is a very lean meat, and absolutely delicious. You should try it sometime. Have you ever seen a starving deer in the northern midwest? It compares to someone being held captive and being tortured. If we as hunters aren't allowed to do our part to control the deer population there will be extensive starvation deaths, and that is truly sad!

There is a place for all God's creatures...right next to the potatoes and gravy.

I don't hunt either but I am in Range Management. You must harvest a cetain number of all animals with no known predators or just like rats and cockroaches they become a menace not only to their helath but that of others. So study a little bewfore you make illogical comments

Oh please, you morons that are against hunting are probably also the ones that can't fill out a voting ballot correctly. And Hello! Albino and piebald deer a "rarity", but not rare. Google it, you can BUY them from farms that raise piebald and albino deer. Pretty frikin rare! And that "rare" animal on my private property wouldn't be seen by anyone but my family as we hunt our land - and if we didn't mount it and hang it on the wall it's existance would never be known, because no one is allowed on my property. And besides, your just wining from your desk chair and never get out in the wilderness to see the animals anyway. So, you would rather pay someone to manage the population of the animals - OK, send me a check so I can buy more powder and bullets! Frikin morons!!!

I have been upset after reading this. Peta, what is your bag, its better to let these animals get sick from dwd. Than for a hunter to feed his family. Grow up and smell the flowers. and take a few pictures of them, Oh yea those die to. So im sure you tree people will start some crazy thing called flowers forever, hunting has been do since the dawn of time, I am sure eve said no adam dont kill it, we dont need to eat. GET A CLUE ON HOW LIFE WORKS. Good for you hunter I would have shot it to, you had a tag you filled it,

These peta people just don't know. Let them eat plants and starve. I love to hunt, I hunt to eat, and I love the challenge. Nothing more rewarding than harvesting your own food. Yes thats what it is FOOD. Taste great!!!! Goes great with patatoes and even some broccoli.
Shoot it and eat it.

Get a clue. They're not criticizing the hunters, just the one that shot the very rare white one. If there are so many starving deer and they're overpopulated, the why didn't he just find another one to shoot?

The pro hunters that are posting here are the reasons that non hunters dislike deer hunters. You people need to think before you post. I have nothing against hunters, as long as they eat what they kill, and are sportsman about it. Would you also shoot a duck while it was sitting on the water?
