Here's what may happen when you hire Cornerstone or any of their sub contractors:
1. They'll make all kinds of promises to get you to hire them. Very few, if any, of these promises will be kept after you sign a contract.
2. It may take them as much as 3 years or more to actually complete your home. They'll tell you it'll take 3-4 months.
3. They claim in their ad's that someone will help you through the whole process. Not true. They told us it was our fault for not doing research and picking the wrong materials, items, etc.
4. The building inspector and the St Germain Town board does not enforce the building codes and allows Cornerstone to get away with it. Your health and safety may be at risk.
5. You will try to get them to correct the 100's of problems, and actually do what is in the contract you signed, but they won't. Instead they will insult you, lie, blame others, make excuses, etc. The St. Germain Town board will also talk about you at their meetings. The Sheriff's Dept. will also help by making false accusations, allowing people to file false complaints against you, etc. You have no rights in Vilas County. You will try to find someone with the authority to help you, but you will soon realize that no one in the State of Wi. gives a damn. Everyone you turn to for help will lie and cheat you if they are friends of Cornerstone, or want to work for them. All comes down to good old intimidation and harassment. I guess it's supposed to make you give up, or just go away. Guess what? That will never happen in our case. Never.
6. If you've hung in there this long, you will be forced to go to arbitration with Cornerstone and the arbitrators they select. It was in your contract but you thought it would never come to that. You told yourself that it was ok to trust these people, but you failed to do any research or talk to people about them before you signed a contract.
7. At some point you may discover that items in your contract were never installed, or they just installed something different. The word "fraud" may come to mind.
8. You may have saved money for years to build your home. You may then have to spend thousands more to get it done right. Any money you had saved will be gone. They have no problem draining your life savings away by playing games.
9. If you are not from this area, then you will always be considered an "outsider".
10. In the end, you will realize what a mistake it was to even think about building a home, but it'll be too late. Your money will be gone and you will be stuck with a defective home.

The above is just my opinion but based on real experiences.
