I wonder if they put any thought into the timing of this project with the opening of the Providence Town Center in October. Ramp closures on weekends? That doesn't sound good.

Not to mention the new highway dependant hotel which just opened at the Royersford exit.

Ok, i get it. Let's build, build, build and THEN worry about the roads. Crazy.

Delays are going to START on Tuesday? There already aren't delays on 422?

"And we’re going to be replacing concrete and eventually resurface that whole stretch of pavement which again is in very poor condition and it will be a much smoother ride once the work is done.”
Wow, a SMOOTHER ride without widening the roads, who would have thought possible? |

It will be smooth for the skateboarders. Skateboarding will soon be a viable means of economical transportation at that slow pace.

I dont agree with the timing at all but it was time for something to be done. I heard from a guy that is working on the town center that it wont be ready by October. The only thing done now is a big centeral bank with like 15 drive throughs. If it wasnt for the recovery package this project would have never started in the first place for another 5 years (according to penndot). If they didnt do it now and we had a long period of 90 degree plus days that road would have started to buckle and the delays would have been during the rush hour. A little delay now will be better in the long run. The road widening would need to take place if it wasnt for everyone moving in this area. Penn Dot has said that when they do widening the road that it will start in KOP and work its way out here and in will be the center to Sanatago. Just give it time I rather have them work on the lanes and shoulders now and then down the road put barriers up and put the new lanes in the center with out hurting traffic to much. They are also working on all the bridges and ramps which will make widening the road easier. The road will stay toll free when all work is done. They have talked about it in the past and it hasnt happened. All that is is Ezpass trying to make more money because it require everyone that uses the road to get ezpass.

That what won't be ready by October? The Town Center?
Wegman's and such still say that they'll open on October 11th. |

Actaully both, he told me that for Wegmans to make that date is a stretch as of last week. He was told when he was there that they were looking at November for both and then not all of the town center will be done but most of it would be just in time for Black Friday. I know Wegmans has been saying October but as someone who works in construction they might have to work almost around the clock to get done. It is a shame because I am actually looking forward to it being done. I hate going to KOP but being able to go to the Town Center and the outlets will be a better. There are other ways of getting into the town center when it is finish other then getting off at 29. They might be a little out of the way but that is fine with me for that time being. Penn Dot is usually pretty good when it comes to a busy weekend in certain areas when they got road work going on. They either dont work or do it late at night. The ramp closers at 29 should be to bad getting off at 29 Westbound or East bound because they did a lot of that work when the worked on 29 last year. The one that is going to hurt is them closing the Rofo exits. Because people who go to the outlets and then come to rofo to eat at applebee's, the Texas roadhouse or outback will have to come down Ridge pike or eat at the outlets.

isn't that what the liberals love to do when they get in the white house? write-funnymoney stimulus then build roads?
beats solving problems or creating jobs. |

Most sane jurisdictions do not allow growth until there are infrastructure improvements are made, very often paid by the builders who need these roads. This area is absolutely run by brain dead hicks. |

Thank you Sher, finally someone else gets it. The mentality here has always been, build it first then deal with the grid-lock. Maybe. Sometime. Down the road. You said it all with the phrase "sane jurisdictions".
