As a resident of new tazewell i have a big concern. we ask our police officers to keep us safe and to protect us from harm. I had to call the police and joe evans came to my house. he has got to be almost 75 years old. if someone would have been there trying to break in or was attacking me what help could he be. he almost fell walking up the steps. he was smoking a cigarette and couldnt hear a word i was saying. i have nothing but respect for the police but this is a problem.do you think that there should be a age limit on our police officers?

You may not think Joe Evans heard you but I am sure he heard every word you said. I have had to deal with him a few times and every time I have called him he was here within a few minutes. I have not so far had any problems with any of the New Tazewell officers. I like them all.

I personally know a lot about how most of the police in this town respond, etc. You cannot beat most of the New Tazewell police. Some are bad just like everywhere. Joe is only interested in writing tickets. That is the only reason the city council keeps him on. They lost their minds when they hired Billy. One of the best is leaving for Iraq and you can always count on Patton and Clark to be as professional as they come. I do wish they had kept the one that came to work with us he is a weird human being!!

Disagree wrote: I think the NTPD along with the TPD and CCSD could all do a better job. Clean the drugs out of this county for heavens sake. That is a big issue. What is it gonna take. The Few good officers we do have can't take on all the drug dealers by themselves and since our sheriff is one of the biggest dealers where are we supposed to get any help? you are a total dumbass!!! its the courts fault that the druggies are still on the street. most of the cops do their jobs (some don't). it should be legal to go out and shoot these sorry ass drug dealers and thieves. i'll be the first one to buy a permit. oh i got to go and clean my guns just in case they do make it legal. where would we check them in at?

disagree wrote: <quoted text> The drug dealers I'm talking about have never been arrested let alone been to court. Every cop in the county knows he's a drug dealer but yet they do nothing. I think it's the cops fault if you disagree then that's fine. Be careful where you point that gun when you clean it. If at all possible turn the barrel toward your head maybe your finger will slip. or mabe you will be my first kill!! i'll need a crane to move your fat ass.

Most of the time the poilce can only do so much within the limits of the law, even though they would love to do more. It's the drug task force that has to be contacted to go a little further, right?
