I'm hoping for some help. I am relatively new to the area. People here tell me of a story from the 80's of a man who killed his family and himself in Thompsonville. I cant find a written account of this story anywhere. I am wondering how much that I hear by mouth is real and how much is legend. If someone could steer me toward any written story I would appreciate it.

RE: just me
I would suggest archives of local news papers such as the Daily American and the Southern. You will probably find these at the public libraries since the papers were not on-line back then. I don't know what you have been told, but the loss of these five precious and wonderful children was felt by all the residents of Thompsonville. I am sure there are many of us who will never forget that February 1st of 1986. Nor will we forget our friends and fellow classmates Barbara, James, Rhoda, Cheryl and Michael Dial. |

Re: Just me - I believe this former Dial property is now owned by my son. What can you tell me about the burial and cemetery location? Also, whatever other info you may remember.

I heard about this in high school 14 years ago. It is archived in the Harrisburg Daily Register at the Harrisburg Library on the micro films. It was a very sad and tragic incident.
