North Dakota gets first NAACP chapter

Interesting since there are only two Black people living in North Dakota.

When are they going to change their name? I thought it was politically incorrect to call blacks, colored. It's just ok for them?

I for one think its really touching that the two AA's living in ND finally met up and formed the NAACP chapter for thier state lol.

First of all I would like to say that I am not a black person but I am a person of color. I support the NAACP and commend them on the fine work they have done and continue to do. I was also pleased to see North Dakota start a chapter. That being said, I do question their choice of leadership.
Just recently at Grand Forks Air Force Base, after almost a year long Commander’s Directed Investigation (CDI), Pastor Ronald Cooper was found guilty of time card abuse (fraud)! He was doing weddings, funerals, counseling etc. both on and off base in his capacity as a paid pastor and making his time sheets marked as present at work. This was all being done with the consent of his squadron commander (LtCol Daniel Liggins) who just happened to be a devout follower and member of Pastor Ronald Cooper’s church, The New Beginnings Christian Center. When the time sheet fraud was brought to the attention of LtCol Daniel Liggins, not only did he not stop it, he and Pastor Ronald Cooper fired the 2 people responsible for timekeeping and gave the job to someone outside of the squadron. This person just happened to be the secretary of the group commander and also the secretary of LtCol Liggins and Pastor Ronald Cooper’s church. At this same time Mrs. Cooper, Pastor Cooper’s wife, was the time sheet auditor for all of Grand Forks Air Force Base. I see red flags going up, am I alone?
I would like to add that I am not judging Pastor Ronald Cooper, that’s the job of the United States Air Force and apparently they have done so, the result being that Mr. Cooper was forced to pay back a small portion of what he had stolen. I don’t agree with this decision as it sets a policy of an acceptable level of theft of taxpayer money at Grand Forks Air Force Base.
Would Grand Forks Air Force Base be willing to fund my church? We too are struggling in this economy as much as Pastor Cooper and The New Beginnings Christian Center. Do they have the authority to support one church and one Pastor over another? Apparently so.
Unless it has been recently changed one of the Ten Commandments states “thou shalt not steal”. Because Pastor Ronald Cooper has been found guilty of theft by the Grand Forks Air Force Base, I can’t see how anyone can take him seriously as a Pastor or a leader in the NAACP. He will never represent me or any member of my family as it would appear that he lacks any credibility as a Christian or a man of morals.

This a a hoot! Note that the chapter is called, spelling it out, the National Association for the Advancement of ***COLORED*** People.

Of course, that doesn't work both ways. Let us white folks say "colored people" and we'd have a lawsuit now, thanks to the NAACP.:)

This is really good news. I just hope that non-Black people of color (and like-minded Whites) in ND feel comfortable dealing with the NAACP too.

North Dakota has terrible welfare benefits so it is surprising that there are any blacks there. Minn. has some of the best welfare in the country and as a result, has a growing black population.

And, FYI, Whites are the ones who founded most Blacks schools (so they wouldn't have to accept Blacks at White schools). Can you really blame Blacks for merely trying to raise money to keep the schools going? If Blacks asked Whites to fund the schools, conservatives would talk about how we need to do for ourselves and stop asking Whites / the gov't. for help....talk about a no-win situation.

We all know Mr Gibbs is a guest of the state of ND Correctional System since he was convicted of murder and rape. He had been a long time in good standing jailer there. We know his sister was stationed in ND, then moved to Minnesota. Her name is Beezetta Etninne she will be in or is Womans Correction in Minn for selling 25,000 illegal drugs and trying to kill her children. Then there is a family of five in Mandan, who have filed for divorce but will still be cousins. They live about 2.5 miles from the only tree in that county.
Also you need to understand that due to " weak ankles " many blacks cannot ice skate. In ND starting mid Oct til late April that is how they get around by skating in the frozen ditches.

I hope that you realize that the majority of people on welfare are not Black and that the majority of Blacks are not on welfare.
