About the driver's plates, one missing and one obscured, sounds like he was tired of being
pulled over on profile stops, but that was a dumb way to draw attention? Heard no mention
of Butte Co Sheriffs. May sound ignorant but thought Oroville police was the Sheriffs. So
each city has its' own police and the county has Sheriffs. What determines the cities the Sheriffs serve? Not clear on the arrangement of assignment of law enforcement.?????????

There are reasons to care about who is chasing within Town borders. That's why clarification was
sought. Sorry you don't understand. Anyone know the
speeds that were reached during the chase?

The Chico ER article has more details about the
speeds. Sounds like the suspect wasn't driving
unsafely. 75 mph on Hwy 70 is what many travel at
on that road and then he slowed to 40 mph on Pentz Rd. Sounds reasonable. Still not clear on
who was chasing though. The Post claims it was
Oroville police with CHP and PPD. The Chico ER
claims it was Butte Co Sheriffs with CHP and PPD.
Still have reasons for seeking to know.?????????

The ER stated 75 as suspectdrove E.on Hyw 75 then slowed as it drove up Pentz dropping to 40.(You would have to decrease speed coming up hill) ER also differed as it said he finally stopped for Police near wagstaff & Pentz. PP stated he was stopped in front of Fit One Athletic club. Friday ,divers from PPD & Butte Co sheriff office spent several hrs searching the Feather River just outside the hatchery looking for the weapon. At press time, authorities hadn't announced if the weapon was found.

Isn't Fit one near Wagstaff
& Pentz? So the driver threw the weapon in the water?
So anyone know of the parolee's prior convictions?

A couple of hours looking for a weapon in the river? The PPD must be loseing their touch. They should be able to plant one quicker than that. As for doing 40 on Pentz Rd., I am surprised that he didn't have a traffic jam behind him. He seems to be the only one who comes close to doing the speed limit.

Yep, should of known the bad guy wasn't a regular driver of Paradise at that time of night. Paradise is known for the toughest Porcupines in the country.

I am glad to be back, you are the most entertaining person on any blog I have visited. Only in Paradise do you get this type of mixture!

I was about to turn off of peach onto pentze, when the strew of cars went past me. I was in shock, I have lived in some rough neighborhoods, and never have I seen anything like it. It either shows the inadequacy of our small town police, or this was one serious man. I was also wondering why we didn't hear about any of this sooner?

Yeah, i know this guy. Relative a close friend. He aint no serious guy, thats for sure. He's been in prison before, drug charges mostly i think. He's just one of the dumb ones who can't figure out how to fly on the str8 an narrow.
It aint that hard.
But i guess you gotta want to first, before you ever will.As for the gun, i wouldn't put it past him, but he aint a gun toter all the time, so i have my doubts on that. Definately the inadequate police force on this one. how come they couldn't get him stopped before he left oroville?

And about the first post. The oroville PD and sheriff's are a different animal altogether. Sheriff have run of the unincorp. areas, but really they have run of the Whole county, lets not kid ourselves. Look up the definition of a sheriff, wikipedia or somewhere.

Yea, well, was he born in Paradise? I hear only those born in Paradise can actually be called a "Ridge Rat."

I'm glad to know the bad boy has options of where to live. Most people go homeless, at least he gets fed and a roof over his head in his choices.

This one's for the Dogs. Oh, and Lone Wolf too. So the guy had a license plate issue.
Don't understand why the police who first spotted
him at 4+ pm didn't just pull him over then and
give him a fix it ticket. May sound dumb, but what
was going on between 4+ and 8+ when they finally
chased him down? I mean, thought once you were
out on parole you were free to exist on the streets like other citizens. There must be many
parolees in Butte County. Why bother letting them
out if they're gonna continue to be stalked and
captured again anyway? Heard of profiling, but how
does it work? Everyone paroled gets stopped if
spotted or what? Why bother going outside ever?

I couldn't pass this up. No Parolees Allowed, you crack me up. Parolees are the best people to go after when they are out and about. It is for sure a good time on the adrendlin rush scale. I think you need to re-read the article. Apparently the guy didn't want to be pulled over for a "fix-it" ticket. So, let's for fun recreate the time line between 4 and 8 p.m. He lost the first cop, back tracked to go eat dinner in Oroville, stopped in South Side in Oroville, picked up a gun at the local drug dealers house. Went to the local Piggy's Bar, drank with some buddies, bragged about losing the cop, smoked some bathroom crack, showed his crack when he bent over, that should of been an illegal act there I tell you, to pick up his gun he dropped outside the bar. Got in his car that had a bad license plate and decided to go for a drive. Okay, now he somehow is headed across the bridge by the fish hatchery as the cops jump on board. There is a strange story there about off loading the gun in the river, I will get back to the point later. Anyway, so the cops jump on him, after they had their dinner at Boss Burger, what a break that parolee passed there at that time. Okay, so Parolee jumps on the gas. Cops in pursuit, so why did Parolee turn up Pentz Road......I would of jumped up 70 to the Plumas Forrest....there is a lot of losing cops up there on those roads. Anyway, dumbie stomps up to Paradise and involves a multi agency chase in this little town.

What's wrong with profiling? I just don't get the point you are trying to make. He had a license plate issue, most bad guys have license plate issues and suspended license issues and drug habits and guns.......did you forget the gun part?

I didn't forget the gun part......in next blog.
