Problem is, the developer is making zillions of dollars which are being subsidized by the taxpayers because instead of paying their fair-share of taxes on non-tax exempt bonds and securities as they should, an IRS looking the other way once again allow the non-connected taxpayers to pick-up the tab for tax-free bonds. So the consequences of special interest groups to America as a whole are profound and generationally long lasting.

If you ask me, they are all stupid. The Villages is cocked full of stupid, senile residents with alarming rates of dementia and Alzheimer’s; and this latest round of wanting ignorance proves it!

Just wait until money gets tight and the “entertainment” dries up in the Villages, and then you will hear the loud cries coming out of the bourgeoisie trailer park.

They are like 5-year-old children who don’t want to take their medicine; then 20 years later, at 25, when they have the health of a 90 year-old; they blame mom for not taking care of them.

When I was little, I didn’t want braces for my teeth. I SCREAMED at my mother not to put braces on my teeth, but today, I am so thankful that she overruled me – otherwise I would have had a mouth full of rotten teeth!

This is the problem, the Villages residents don’t want to take their medicine, but unfortunately, it is the rest of us and their children who are going to be left with the check.

Once again, the fools (Village residents) are "living the dream"--that is, the dream the Morse family has of obtaining greater wealth and greater control over these so obviously lower middle class people who think they are now among the rich elite. WE MOVED TO THE VILLAGES IN 2005. WE HAD LIVED IN BREVARD CTY. AND WERE DISATISFIED WITH THE WAY OUR HOA WAS RUN. ABSOLUTELY NO ENFORCEMENT OF THE RULES. WE THOUGHT THAT THE 125.00 MONTHLY FEE WOULD BE WORTH IT. WE NEVER FIGURED ON THE CONSTANT STEPFORD MANIPULATION. PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE DEBT OR WHAT THE DEVELOPER DOES AS LONG AS THEY THINK IT DOESN'T AFFECT THEM.
THIS FAMILY CONTROLS THE NEWSPAPER THE UTILITIES THEIR OWN BANK THE POLITICAL ATMOSPHERE ETC. THEY SETTLED THE CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR 40 MIL AND PUT A PULLOUT IN THEIR PAPER WHICH MADE IT LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PHILANTROPHISTS. I WAS AN OFFICER OF THE COURT FOR 30 YEARS UP NORTH AND NEVER SAW A SETTLEMENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE WITH OUT SOME WRONG DOING INVOLVED. WHERE DID THE MONEY WITHHELD GO IN THE FIRST PLACE. I BET THAT IF HE WASN'T SUCH A LARGE CONTRIBUTOR TO THE FLORIDA REPUBLICAN PARTY THE AG WOULD BE LOOKING INTO WHERE THE MONEY WENT. HE HAS RUN EVERY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FROM W TO RUDY TO MITT TO MCCAIN THRU THIS PLACE BUT NOT ONE DEMOCRAT. EQUAL TIME? YEAH RIGHT. All but Juan and Hector are right on, both their comments are flippant. The rest of you are so right. I am laughing at the descriptions of many of the villagers and also crying because I live here. Not knowing (the score) is my very own fault. I was so happy to finally just retire, finally leave Michigan and teaching in Detroit. I so wanted to live in Florida that I was totally taken in just believing all the printed propaganda and TV advertising that this " Big Daddy" was going to provide a Paradise for us. Eventually I began attending my districts' meetings and thats when reality began to set in and the reality just keeps on becoming a bigger nightmare. I just cannot abide by a "legal thief". Many villagers are banding together to try to make some right for themselves, however only the IRS can do some real justice if they are not bought off by Gary Morse and clan

If Villages kept its problems to itself, that would be one thing. However the developer wants to control Sumter County, home to most of its residents. Through One Sumter Under Village Control he seeks total control of county government. He has succeeded in getting taxes artificially low for his residents to partially offset the cost of the amenities. Check out the fire rate also. The campaigns he runs for his puppet candidates have no respect for truth and fair play. Anyone who doesn't believe One Sumter doesn't mean One Sumter Under Village Control has their head up where the sun doesn't shine. If they don't remove it, it's going to get crowded there before the developer is finished with you.

BY the way again, I'd like to see you explain IN DETAIL how these people are able to live there. You don't get in for free. And many of them have sold their old homes to PAY for the ones they live in for their final years so the don't have to pay a mortgage.

Personally, I HATE the way the Villages advertise; it's stinky. But you'd better have better reason to accuse than just your resentment.
