Halloween is not an innocent festival of fun and games. It has left a wide destructive path through all the ages. There are occult (hidden) strings attached. It is becoming more sinister as the years go by and Satan's hand is becoming more obvious to those who are taking notice. Halloween is the kindergarten of the occult, and various types of involvement can lead to serious consequences.
Really wow! Cause when I was a kid we actually went trick or treating. It was fun and we were safe. Now the only halloween is in the churches "festivals" and it's not fun at all, it's just all the kids have to do. So if it's getting more sinister, the churches are doing it.

not necessarily children. scroll back and I listed the publication. The information was put out by the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. It was titled Satanic, Occult, Ritualistic Crime: A Law Enforcement Perspective, by Kenneth V. Lanning. The FBI is not a religious organization, nor has it an agenda. This Academy is a National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime. It was given to me by an Administrator of a mental ward in Dallas, Texas, who deal with young kids involved in the occult.

Lanning did not come to the conclusion that 5,000 people are murdered by Satanic cults or similar groups. In fact, he found no hard evidence of ritual abuse at all. In fact, here is a direct quote from that report where he warns against overreacting to such tales:

" Until hard evidence is obtained and corroborated, the American people should not be frightened into believing that babies are being bred and eaten, that 50,000 missing children are being murdered in human sacrifices, or that satanists are taking over America's day care centers. No one can prove with absolute certainty that such activity has NOT occurred. The burden of proof, however, as it would be in a criminal prosecution, is on those who claim that it has occurred. As law enforcement agencies evaluate and decide what they can or should do about satanic and occult activity in their communities, they might want to also consider how to deal with the hype and hysteria of the "anti-satanists." The overreaction to the problem can clearly be worse than the problem."
"The explanation that the satanists are too organized and law enforcement is too incompetent only goes so far in explaining the lack of evidence. For at least eight years American law enforcement has been aggressively investigating the allegations of victims of ritual abuse. There is little or no evidence for the portion of their allegations that deals with large-scale baby breeding, human sacrifice, and organized satanic conspiracies."

That was from the last section of the report, "conclusions." It's especially important to note that he said "The overreaction to the problem can clearly be worse than the problem."

Take the McMartin School case. Hysteria by the parents and public over "satanic abuse" ruined reputations and lives. Seven years and millions spent on investigation and trials. No convictions at all. One man was held in jail for five years and never convicted of anything. If there was any real sexual abuse - and that's a big "if" - the hysteria of zealots such as yourself destroyed any chance of getting to the truth.

Lanning found that yes, there were people who believed in satanism who committed crimes, even murder. But he also said in most cases those crimes were not related to their belief in satanism at all. And he said most crimes that actually do involve such groups or activities are minor, such as trespassing and vandalism.

The report in online. Anyone can read it and see for themselves. It does not raise the hair on the back on one's neck. It is a reasonable and balanced look at the problem - both of the occult and the overreaction to it.

apparently you are reading a different report than what I have. the copy I have in hand is marked confidential and certainly not posted on the internet. An addendum to lannings report, from Dr. Al Carlisle also states that THROUGHOUT the year, and not just on Halloween, the estimate can range from 40 to 60,000 in the United States alone, because of the various "holidays" they celebrate. He estimates 600 in Las Vegas alone. He also states he showed video tapes (yes, VCR) during the seminar of actual rituals being conducted. So your report must be a generalized posting of sometime else.

I found the report you were reading, but that was written back in 1989 and does contain some of the same subject matter; apparently someone was stepping on his toes on this one, because the one I have is much more detailed. Also your interpretations of that same report contain a lot of hype and twist. apparently you are one of those "pagan defenders member??", card carrying member? so I could see where you would defend them.

the problem with eccentric message board debates is that people live for the verbal fencing more than the meaningful relevant conversation

Christianity is not determined by behavior or attitude, but by faith in God. While that faith seeks to transform those who follow God into a Christlike manner, that transformation is not directed towards making good people, but more importantly, truthful people. Many, many people did not consider Jesus a good man either. Many called him a witch, warlock, greedy, a hypocrite and many other bad things.
Why are you answering this demon? Can you not tell he is a problem and there is something so wrong with this perverts brain, have you not read what everyone is saying about this nut,you think he cares anything about Jesus have you not read the filth that he has wrote concering the Lord?

actually, I teach my grandchildren, as I have taught my children, the true meaning of Christmas. Guess what. They turned out normal. My grandchild completely understands. She says, "Papa, it soon to be Jesus' birthday". She has no problem celebrating and exchanging gifts. She may not understand completely, but I havent lied to her about it, nor did I lie to my children when they were growing up. It hasn't taken one ounce of holiday cheer away from them; in fact it has generated more excitement.
